Lindsay Lohan plays Sierra Belmont, a recently engaged hotel heiress. She’s never worked, so she’s used to being pampered. She experiences amnesia following a skiing accident before Christmas and is left in the care of a charming small-town cabin owner, played by Chord Overstreet of Glee, and his daughter Avy, played by Olivia Perez of In the Heights. This group also includes Charles Wagner and George Young. Sierra loses her memory and sets out to recover Christmas and her identity.
Reviewers are busy. Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 72% audience score, 37 Metascore, and 6.6 user score.
Roger Ebert about Lindsay Lohan:
Lohan is like Sigourney Weaver’s character in Working Girl. She’s kind, yet she barks commands like it’s second nature. This portion of the film showcases Lohan’s comic talents.
According to Variety, “it seems like the ideal festive present, witnessing her use her ability and humor while crafting a character whose path towards a second chance at life delivers the goods.”
The movie was available to Netflix members, and it quickly became and remains the service’s most-watched offering.
Lindsay Lohan made her acting debut in 1996 on the daytime soap opera Another World, playing the role of Ali Fowler. Later in her career, she became known for her roles as teen idol Hallie Parker and Annie James in the 1998 film The Parent Trap, as Freaky Friday opposite Jamie Lee Curtis in 2003, and as Cady Haron in the 2004 film Mean Girls.
