Who is Daniel Connors?

Daniel Connors is an Australian rules football player, born on September 22, 1988. The Richmond Football Club picked him at number 58 in the 2006 AFL national draught. Originating from the Echuca Football Club, he played for the Bendigo Pioneers in the TAC Cup. Daniel Connors was a “steal” in the 2006 National Draft because many people thought he would go in the top 20. Instead, he fell to the 58th pick, where Richmond picked him with their third pick.

Why was the football player arrested?

On 6th Jan 2023, Friday, it was reported that the former Tiger had been arrested in Geelong by the Special Operations Group. Daniel Connors went to court on Friday for a number of crimes, including drug and gun charges and the alleged theft of a car that police say was used in a violent crime where shots were fired. Connors played for the Tigers from 2007 to 2012 but was fired after a well-known mistake with sleeping pills and repeated warnings about his behavior. He did not ask for bail in court on Friday. He will most likely stay in jail until his next court date in March.

“Members of the SOG (Special Operations Group) picked up the former football star in Geelong on Thursday,” 7NEWS reporter Cassie Zervos said. “Daniel Connors was one of three men who were wanted after a violent car chase on Christmas Eve in which shots were fired from one car to another. Police are still trying to find people who might have seen the car chase. His is not in the court and been in trouble with the law for the first time. In 2016, he was found guilty of a violent attack in a pub that left a man with a torn tendon in his hand.
