Early Life

On May 21, 1960, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Lionel, and Joyce Dahmer welcomed Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer into the world. Up until the time of his double hernia operation at the age of four, he was considered an eager and happy youngster.

Immediately following the birth of his younger sibling, his family regularly moved. He became more aloof, tense, and friendless in his early teens.

However, it seems that the dissolution of his parent’s marriage and their contentious divorce a few years later was the spark for putting these thoughts into deed. Dahmer said that his compulsions for necrophilia and murder began when he was 14 years old.

When he committed his first murder, his drinking had gone out of control. His father told him to join the Army after he got remarried, so he left Ohio State University after just one semester.

After enrolling in 1978, Dahmer was soon enlisted in the German army, but his drinking issues grew worse. Early in 1981, the Army let him go, and after his discharge, Dahmer went back to Ohio.

After being arrested for unruly conduct later that year, his father subsequently transferred him to live with his grandmother in Wisconsin. It undoubtedly did not end his alcoholism, and the next summer he was imprisoned for indecent exposure.

After two boys accused him of masturbating in front of them, he was arrested once more in 1986, and this time, he was sentenced to a year of probation.

Education

When Dahmer was four years old, he started to demonstrate curiosity about dead animals. He used to watch his father carefully remove animal bones from the foundation of the family home at the time. Jeffrey’s father taught him how to preserve animal bones as well. In his first year at Revere High School, he was shunned. Jeffrey used to drink beer and hard liquor during the day.

He briefly played tennis in the high school band while still in school. In May 1978, he received his high school diploma. His mother and siblings relocated to Chippewa Falls to live with their family the same year. At the age of 18, he was living alone in the family home.

Three weeks after receiving his diploma in 1978, Jeffrey committed his first murder.

 What did Jeffrey Dahmer do?

Jeffrey committed his first murder in 1978. A hitchhiker was picked up by him shortly after he received his high school diploma, and they were taken to his parent’s house where he offered him a drink and had intercourse with him. When the hitchhiker tried to get away, Jeffrey hit him in the head and strangled him with a barbell.

Between 1978 and 1991, Dahmer was responsible for the deaths of 16 other people. Even while crime enthusiasts are likely aware that this is typical serial killer behavior, what bothers people the most is what the perpetrator did following the killings.

Dahmer kept body parts in jars, ate them, and even had sex with the bodies of some of his victims.

Who Were The Victims Of Dahmer?

Jeffrey was left alone after both of his parents had abandoned him. The majority of the crimes occurred before he moved in with his grandmother. For his 17 male victims, he committed murder, rape, cannibalism, necrophilia, and dismemberment. He was deactivated from the service and then detained for indecent exposure. He was detained once more for urinating in public a year later.

At pubs, bus stations, shopping centers, and adult bookstores, Jeffrey Dahmer frequently encountered his victims. He primarily went for gay guys of color, and he would get them to accompany him home by offering alcohol or money in exchange for pictures.

By the time police apprehended Dahmer, he had murdered 17 men and boys.

Personal Life

Jeffrey Dahmer committed gay sex crimes. In his early to mid-teens, he began to have fantasies about smothering a male lover. In his early teen years, Jeffrey also dated a young boy.

Before attacking Jesse Anderson, Jeffrey was cleaning a staff bathroom. Later, Anderson and Dahmer were both murdered by Christopher Scarver, another prisoner. The investigators found a 20-inch iron bar that was used to kill Anderson and Dahmer. On May 15, 1995, Scarver was given a sentence for the murder that included two further life sentences. Following his demise, Dahmer’s body was cremated, and his parents received his ashes.

How Did Jeffrey Dahmer Get Caught?

On July 22, 1991, Tracy Edwards was invited to Jeffrey Dahmer’s home for a movie and some beverages. Then Dahmer pinned Edwards to the ground and brandished a knife. However, Edwards managed to break free of his restraints and called two passing law enforcement officials.

Body parts found in Dahmer’s refrigerator and Polaroid pictures of his victims were linked closely to his infamous killing spree as a result of Edward’s escape. Ultimately, Jeffrey Dahmer was apprehended, found guilty, and jailed.

Jeffrey Dahmer’s Cause of Death

After the trial, Jeffrey Dahmer was taken to a prison in Portage, Wisconsin, called the Columbia Correctional Institution.

Christopher J. Scarver, a second prisoner at the Columbia Correctional Institution who had been convicted of murder, repeatedly beat Dahmer to death on November 28, 1994, claiming that Dahmer’s macabre sense of humour upset him. His remains were eventually cremated, and his parents received his ashes.
