Mark Schwahn developed and starred in the American prime-time soap opera The Royals, which starred Elizabeth Hurley. On March 15, 2015, it premiered on E! The network’s original scripted series, Falling for Hamlet, is based on the novel by Michelle Ray. E! renewed The Royals for a second season just a few months before its premiere. The soap opera’s third season premiered on January 5, 2016. E! announced on February 16, 2017, that the show has been renewed for a fourth season, and the fourth season premiered on March 11, 2018.
There have been rumblings about The Royals since E! stated in April 2013 that it was working on an ensemble comedy series based on the royal family of the United Kingdom, with a title inspired by Hamlet from Shakespeare’s canon. June 2014 saw the start of shooting for the first season in London. The Royals’ first promotional video debuted on E! in August of that year. Finally, E! confirmed in December 2014 that the series will launch on March 15, 2015.
In the beginning, most reviews were unfavorable. When it comes to portraying palace life, Jane Mulkerrins of The Telegraph called it an “awkward” and “soapy” representation, noting that it lacked the “complexity” of Gossip Girl and the “compelling melodrama” of The OcNancy. Both Dewolf Smith of the Wall Street Journal and David Wiegand of the San Francisco Chronicle classified The Royals as “a trashy soap opera that’s not awful enough to be humorous and is best when it wallows in the melodrama.” It was able to stay on the air for four years despite the negative reviews since a substantial number of people found it enjoyable.

Where to Watch All Season of The Royal?
The Royals Season 4 is available on Vudu, FandangoNOW, Redbox, Amazon Prime and Apple iTunes.
Why The Royal Season 5 Didn’t happen?
The show’s creator and showrunner, Mark Schwahn, was fired in December after detailed allegations of sexual harassment during his time on “One Tree Hill.” This is why the show is being canceled. Twenty-five cast and crew members of “The Royals” also spoke out against Schwahn’s actions. In a letter, they said that Schwahn “repeatedly sexually harassed multiple female cast and crew members without their consent.”
The Royal Season Storyline:
The plot centers around a fight for a throne that is now vacant, as implied by the title. There is now a war-like scenario in which all members of the family are concerned about the future of The throne after the death of Robert.
Everyone stays true to who they are, with the exception of Liam, one of the heir apparent siblings, who struggles to adjust to his new role as king while also falling head over heels in love with Ophelia. Eleanor, his twin, is in a state of confusion and shock after discovering that her boyfriend and her bodyguard were actually imposters.
In the midst of all this, the queen and the king’s brother work together to ensure that the king’s throne and the royal family’s reputation are safeguarded. After the loss of a close family member, all members of the family develop a fierce rivalry. Lian and Eleanor, the twins, are still together and they can communicate with each other without any problems.
