The life of the police officer has been shown in a number of films and television shows. For as long as we can remember, they’ve been fighting criminals, terrorists, zombies, and aliens. These action-packed Shows are a hit with the audience.

The Rookie, an ABC Studios and Entertainment One production, debuted in 2018 as an action-comedy drama on the network. Alexi Hawley is the brains behind this project. “Nathan Fillion” was inspired by the actual tale of Bill Norcross, a middle-aged rookie cop in the Los Angeles Police Department (executive producer of “The Rookie”). This department admits officers who are beyond the age of 30.

In its first season, which premiered on ABC on October 16, 2018, the show was well-received by audiences, earning a Rotten Tomatoes audience rating of 93%. The second season premiered on September 29, 2019, and was scored 8.1/10 on IMDB by the audience. It premiered its third season on January 3, 2021.

Season 4 began on September 26, 2021, and the fifth season is expected to be released in the next months. The Rookie has been nominated for Outstanding Stunt Coordination in a Drama Series at the 2020 Prime Time Emmy Awards.

The Rookie Season 5 Release Date: When Will It Air?

The Rookie, starring Nathan Fillion, has been renewed for a fifth season by ABC.  The Rookie’s fourth season aired in the fall of 2021. Taking this into consideration, the fifth season is expected to premiere somewhere between the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023.

The producers have yet to announce how many episodes will be produced in the upcoming season. It should continue to be different this season as it has been in the previous seasons.

Castle actor Nathan Fillion, who portrays the LAPD’s oldest officer, will once again take the major role. While the new cast has yet to be announced, past cast members are said to be returning for this season. The show’s primary cast members are as follows:

  • Titus Makin is in the role of Jackson West, Trainee Police Officer.
  • Eric Winter is in the role of Tim Bradford, Training Officer.

The Rookie Storyline:

John Nolan, a law student from the University of Pennsylvania, was the central character of Alexi Hawley’s drama. After he dropped out of college, he began working in the building industry.

To pursue his lifelong passion of working as a police officer, a fortysomething guy left everything behind and relocated to Los Angeles after assisting authorities during a bank heist. In season one, his path to becoming the oldest rookie in the LAPD and entering the hazardous and unexpected world of crime was a lot of fun to witness.

Season 2 ended with a cliffhanger that left not only Nolan, but the entire audience, wondering what would happen next. His mentor misled the Rookie Police Officer, framing him as a corrupt officer. His friend’s treachery had a profound impact on him. After discovering that his mentor Nick Armstrong was collaborating with Crime Boss Serj Darien, John Nolan was on the hunt for proof as the second season came to a close. Nolan’s evidence was planted by Nick when he was being detained by police.

In the third season, we saw Nolan’s efforts to clear his name. It was also evident to you how this problem was tidied up by him. In Season 3 of The Rookie, John Nolan washed off plaster dust from his home. However, it remains to be seen if he is able to clean up the mistakes he has made over his professional career.
