“How to Ruin Christmas” star Busisiwe “Busi” Lurayi died at her home in South Africa. She turned 36.

In a post on the official Instagram account of her talent agency in Johannesburg, Eye Media Artists, Lurayi’s family confirmed that she had died “suddenly.”

“We are very sorry to tell you that our beloved Busisiwe Lurayi has died,” the post says. “Busisiwe died suddenly, and on Sunday, July 10, 2022, she was pronounced dead at her home by medical staff.”

“We are still waiting for the autopsy report to find out what caused death,” the family said. “We ask you humbly to give the family some time to deal with this terrible news.”

At the end of the statement, her fans were told, “We thank you for the support you’ve shown so far, and we’ll let you know when we have more information.”

“Rest in peace, @busi lurayi,” the agency wrote as a caption for the post.

Since 2020, Lurayi has played the role of Tumi Sello on the Netflix show “How to Ruin Christmas.” Sello is a “prodigal daughter” who goes home for the holidays and messes up her sister’s wedding plans. Now she needs to fix things before it’s too late.”
