Arcane Season 2

Arcane Season 2 Release Date: When Does Netflix Arcane Season 2 Come Out?

Entertainment Netflix On Demand

Arcane, an animated series that premiered on Netflix in November 2021 and immediately became a smash hit due to its compelling storyline, quickly became a hit (and one hell of a cliffhanger ending).

The natural reaction has been for the cast and crew to want to know everything and anything about the show’s future, including season two and beyond.

Thankfully, we now have some answers, and while we recognize that there will be some waiting involved, we are confident that it will be well worth it.

Set in the League of Legends universe created by Riot Games, Arcane tells the origin stories of characters from the utopian city Piltover and the repressed undercity Zaun, including sisters Vi (Hailee Steinfeld) and Jinx (Jamie Bell) and their parents (Ella Purnell).

Steinfeld, of course, has since joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Kate Bishop, a young want to be superhero who Hawkeye takes under his wing over the course of the season-long Marvel series Hawkeye. She also received critical acclaim for her role in the film Dickinson, in which she played a young version of literary heroine Emily Dickinson.

However, she was less well-known when Arcane creators Christian Linke and Alex Yee hired her to provide the voice of Vi for the show’s first season, which took six years to complete.

One Esports reported that Yee said, “In many cases, the people we chose to work with were not quite as big at the time as they ended up becoming.”

According to Linke, “it was exciting to see that a lot of the talent that we chose to work with over the years has manifested itself in a variety of different formats and projects.”

Another find was Ella Purnell, who recently wowed audiences with her performance in Yellowjackets and now voices Jinx in the film. “We’re all aware of who she is in the game,” Yee explained. I think Ella did a fantastic job in that role. “But we really wanted to bring this extra dimension to her and show her this subtly and true human behind the big, bright flashy exterior of Jinx,” says the director.

So, what’s in store for the series in the future, and who will be making a return? Here’s everything we know so far about the situation.

Arcane Season 2 Release Date

Arcane Season 2 Release Date
Arcane Season 2 Release Date

Arcane Season 2 will be available to stream on Netflix, with the possibility of an episode being broadcast live on Twitch. However, we all know that it isn’t going to happen anytime soon. Despite the fact that the first season was completed in six years, we know from the Arcane official Twitter account that Season 2 has only been officially “in production” since November 2021. And, with only a brief teaser trailer, it has also confirmed that the show will not be debuting on our screens until 2022, with the best-case scenario being a 2023 release date.

We also don’t have any information on the episodes or their titles just yet, but it’s reasonable to assume they’ll follow the same release schedule as Season 1, with three episodes released each weekend for the next three weekends.

Don’t let this discourage you. Shauna Spenley, Riot’s global president of entertainment, has revealed that Arcane is not the only story that the company intends to pursue with Studio Fortiche in the future. This isn’t surprising considering that there are currently 158 champions in League of Legends, with more being added all the time. Many of these champions also have overlapping storylines. She also hinted at the possibility of live-action projects in the future. So you can be sure that whatever they come up with next will be big, bold, and awesome.

Arcane Season 2 Cast

The following season one star is almost certain to return to voice the second season, including:

  • Vi is played by Hailee Steinfeld.
  • Jinx is played by Ella Purnell
  • Caitlyn is played by Katie Leung.

A teaser from Arcane’s team, on the other hand, has fans wondering if the series will be getting an intriguing new addition.

Arcane fans are convinced they can hear the mechanical heartbeat of League of Legends champion Warwick, who is a hybrid of werewolf and machine who has no memory of his previous life before being experimented on in scientist Singed’s laboratory. The teaser contains no new scenes, only some dialogue, but the most important part is at the end – Arcane fans are convinced they can hear the mechanical heartbeat of League of Legends champion Warwick.

There is currently no information available about who would voice Warwick if he were to be included in season two, but keep an eye on this space for updates.

Arcane Season 2 Plot

While the final episode of season one was certainly explosive, the episode also left many plot threads open for further exploration in season two.

Zaun is without a leader as a result of Silco’s death, and it is unclear who will step in to lead the group. Because potential candidate Jinx has gotten completely out of hand, it is possible that Vi will be the one to take the reins, especially given the fact that she is the adopted daughter of Zaun’s late leader, Vander.

After all was said and done, Jinx took to the streets with a rocket launcher and fired it at the Council building, just as the members of the Council were voting on whether or not to grant Zaun independence. Her enraged act has the potential to spark a war between Piltover and Zaun, and it remains to be seen whether any survivors of the explosion will be able to confirm that the vote for independence was indeed successful.

No one believes that Jinx will ever be reunited with her sister Vi at this point in time, either. In the beginning, Vi had hoped to mend her relationship with Jinx, but witnessing your sibling launch a rocket into a building full of people may have been difficult to overcome.

Reed Shannon has some plot expectations for the upcoming seasons (via CBR). “I’d love to see Ekko and Mel interact with one another. That would be completely insane… I was particularly interested in one aspect of Arcane: because of the disparity in wealth, because of the disparity in wealth between the top city and the Undercity, race is not a topic that is discussed between the characters.

“So it would be fascinating to see how people who appear to be the same interact with one another. Is there anything like that going on, or is everyone just showing up? I’d also like to see them interact simply because Ekko is so intelligent, and she might say something along the lines of, ‘Oh, you could be used…’ We could transport you back to Noxus, where you could construct anything you wanted.’ That would be a lot of fun to witness.”

It most definitely would. Shannon may even get to see his dreams come true on the big screen if the situation is right.

“We want to tell more stories,” Linke said in an interview with Superpixel. “The number of things we want to explore will increase, regardless of whether or not it becomes a television show or a movie. We didn’t say from the beginning that we wanted it to be a TV show or anything like that, which I think is similar to Arcane. To summarise, we said, “Okay. These characters are fantastic.” A story that we are going to tell you is as follows:

“As time passed, we discovered that we needed the time commitment of a television show to go as deep as we wanted to – Vi and Jinx, Victor and Jayce, etc. However, there is a possibility that a story will be told in a movie format at some point in the future. Upon further investigation, I believe we will have plans to tell a great many more stories in the future. Yes, I believe the answer is yes, there will be some.”

Arcane Season 2 Trailer

Because production on the second season has only recently begun, it will be some time before any new footage is made available. Look for a trailer to be released in late 2022, ideally around the time that the release date for season two is confirmed.

In the meantime, we have the trailer for season one to look forward to.

The first season of Arcane is currently available to watch on Netflix.
