Pacific Rim: The Black season 2 Ending Explained And Recap
Hayley, Taylor, Mei, and Boy are on their way to Sydney Base as episode 7 begins with them fending off a Kaiju attack. In Taylor’s mind, visiting Sydney is a myth, and the idea of going there makes her feel uncomfortable. He is uncomfortable with his new normal.
The Kaiju return and the Sisters continue to fend them off, but then the Sisters call a Category VI Kaiju to battle against them. No respite exists for the protagonists, and they are now forced to devise a strategy in order to make it to the Sydney Base in time. As they move closer to Sydney Base, the military must determine whether Boy is a threat.
However, as they approach the base, they notice more Kaiju, prompting them to activate their defense systems. Our main heroes, as well as the Kaiju, are attacked by missiles. Even when we think things can’t get much worse, a Category VI Kaiju appears out of nowhere. Taylor has reported to the Sydney Base once more, this time mentioning his parents. Realizing who they are, the military orders a cessation of hostilities.
Hayley and Taylor are having a terrible time at this point in their Atlas Destroyer due to the difficulty of dealing with Category VI Kaiju. As they collapse to their knees, they realize they are in a desperate situation. The Messiah is calling for Boy, and he must decide whether to respond or help his pals while the Sisters are attempting to summon him. The boy chooses his friends.
As the Atlas Destroyer is totally destroyed, the AI Loa activates Taylor’s ejection protocol, allowing them to survive the attack. Because Loa has been by their side since the beginning, it’s an emotional moment for both of them. They eject, and the Atlas Destroyer self-destructs, destroying the Kaiju and bringing the ship down with it.
What happened at the end
They all survive, except Loa, and Sydney Base deploys a chopper to pick them up. Hayley and Taylor are reunited with their father, which is a heartbreaking reunion. Sydney Base conducts tests on Boy and decides that he is a weapon, but Taylor rejects this idea.
