She revealed to the newspaper that he was admitted to the hospital in New York on Saturday, February 17 and that upon arrival, it was discovered that he had a severe spinal cord infection. He had surgery, but as he was healing the next day, he had a deadly heart attack.
“The last words we said to each other were ‘I love you,'” Serrano-Ganios wrote. “Love is an understatement. You are everything to me. My heart, my soul, and my best friend. #I love you #tonyganios.”
The fiance of Ganios posted a message on X, the former Twitter platform, saying, “It’s just unreal to me right now. It was so fast. He hadn’t felt well and hid it from me for days. When he finally told me and was taken to the hospital, his spinal cord was severely infected. They had surgery, and the next morning, his heart stopped. I’m crushed.”
