‘Summer I Turned Pretty’ Season 2 Confirmation, Cast, Storyline and Latest Updates

The Summer I Turned Pretty, a new show on Prime Video, has already been renewed for a second season before its premiere on Friday, June 17. If that is the case, then it is possible that fans have not had a chance to binge the show and become fascinated with it yet. Here’s all you need to know about the TV show based on Jenny Han’s young adult book The Summer I Turned Pretty and its second season.

Will The Summer I Turned Pretty has a second season?

Yes, Deadline says that there will definitely be a second season. It has not been given a release date yet, but since it came out in June this year, it might be safe to assume that it will come out in the summer of 2023.

When will Season 2 of The Summer I Turned Pretty come out?

There is no date yet for when The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2 will be out. But filming has started, so that is at least something! The first season became available on Amazon Prime Video on June 17. If the show stays true to its summer theme, season two should come out in the spring or summer of 2023.

What is the storyline of The Summer I Turned Pretty?

Isabel “Belly” Conklin, the main character of the story, is caught in a love triangle between two brothers, Conrad and Jeremiah. Belly has had a crush on Conrad, the older brother, for a long time, and he is finally showing interest in her. Suddenly, Conrad’s younger brother, Jeremiah, is also interested in her.

This is because it is their last summer at Cousins Beach, where the boys, their mom, and Belly’s family have always gotten together every year. Susannah, the brothers’ mother, has cancer and decides in the end that she no longer wants to go through aggressive treatment. Still, they are all trying to have a “normal” summer together, but it is getting harder and harder.

Han’s original series has two more books so the second season could be based on the story of the second book, It is Not Summer Without You. Susannah has died, and Belly’s new relationship with Conrad starts to fall apart because of the stress. He ends up running away, and while she and Jeremiah are on the road trying to find him, she turns to the younger brother.

This could be the plot of season 2, but there were some changes from the first book in the first season, and there is no guarantee they will stick to the book’s plot.

Has it begun filming yet?

Yes! On social media, the show said, “Rolling on season 2!” and posted a picture of Han and Tung working together on set. As the movie is being made, we will keep an eye out for more sneak peeks.

Who will be in the second season of The Summer I Turned Pretty?

The S2 behind-the-scenes picture on Prime Video proves that Lola Tung will be back as Belly. As for the rest of the cast, we expect Conrad and Jeremiah, played by Christopher Briney and Gavin Casalegno, to be back. We would also like to see Sean Kaufman (Steven), Alfredo Narciso (Cleveland), Minnie Mills (Shayla), Jackie Chung (Laurel), Colin Ferguson (John), and Tom Everett Scott (Adam) back.

Based on Jenny Han’s book trilogy, The Summer I Turned Pretty, there is one character whose future is not clear. Between the first and second book, Rachel Blanchard’s character, Susannah, dies. So, if S2 stays true to how the books went, we might not see Rachel on screen again.

Is there a trailer for season 2 of The Summer I Turned Pretty?

Prime Video has not put out any teasers or trailers for The Summer I Turned Pretty season 2 yet, but we will let you know as soon as they do.
