Lisa Rinna is officially exiting The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after eight dramatic and unique seasons. Lisa Rinna announced her departure from “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” on January 5, Bravo confirmed to TODAY.com. After eight seasons on the reality show, the 59-year-old reality star is “eager” about the next stage in her career. Rinna said in a statement to TODAY.com,
“This is the longest job I have held in my 35-year career, and I am grateful to everyone at Bravo and all those involved in the series. It has been a fun eight-year run, and I am excited for what is to come!”
Additionally, TODAY.com verified that Rinna’s contract was up at the end of Season 12. After having the time to assess her current alternatives and professional duties, she and Bravo mutually agreed that she would not return to “RHOBH.” Since 2014, Rinna has been on the show. In the 2021 book “Not All Diamonds and Rosé” by Dave Quinn, she disclosed that she initially auditioned but was rejected.
Andy Cohen, the show’s executive producer, and a Bravo star remarked in the book,
“Lisa Rinna had been on so many reality shows, it just seemed like a parody to me. For me, it needed to be about real women. I didn’tdidn’t think we should have an actress, and I didn’tdidn’t think any of them should be famous.”
Rinna is best remembered for her appearances as Billie Reed and Taylor McBride on “Days of Our Lives” and “Melrose Place,” respectively.
In the previous season of “RHOBH,” Rinna confronted Kathy Hilton, accusing her of disrespecting Kyle Richards and her family, culminating in a violent confrontation during a group trip to Aspen, Colorado.
Andy Cohen also called out Rinna during the season 12 reunion, where her behavior on social media was discussed, and the other housewives learned that Rinna, not Erika Jayne, tossed away co-star Garcelle Beauvais’Beauvais’ biography “Love Me As I Am.”
