Predecessor Release Date

Predecessor Release Date, Gameplay, Rumors & Everything We Know So Far

Games

Do you remember the Multiplayer Online Battle Game (MOBA) called Paragon, developed by Epic Games? No? I’d almost forgotten about that as well, to be honest. However, despite the fact that the free-to-play game is now largely forgotten, it was a source of considerable disappointment at the time when it was shut down in 2018.

As a third-person multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA), Predecessor is sometimes referred to as “the lovechild of League of Legends and Overwatch.”

When Paragon was canceled, Epic Games made all of its assets available to third-party developers. In order to build on these assets and produce Predecessor, Omeda Studios acquired $2.2 million in funding. The game has received a lot of positive feedback.

The predecessor’s release date, beta testing period, and other details are all detailed below.

At this time, there is no official or reported release date for the Predecessor video game. According to the information we have so far on the Predecessor’s release timeline, we should expect to see an early access version in late 2022 and a final game sometime in 2023.

Predecessor Stress Test

During the period July 30th to August 1st, 2021, the Predecessor stress test, or at least one of them, took place. The stress test was only open to those who were invited, though you can request an invitation to these tests through Steam or PlayPred.com if you are interested.

I was fortunate enough to be invited to this exam, and what transpired during it was, to put it mildly, fascinating, to say the least.

Stress tests such as this are primarily used to test servers to assess how well they perform when dealing with greater numbers of gamers who are connected to the internet using a variety of internet connection types in different parts of the world.

Small issues can also be ironed out during these early stages before they are exposed to the public at any point in the future.

Unfortunately, I was unable to participate in the Predecessor game in its entirety. It became clear that the servers were unable to cope with the large number of gamers that were flooding in, and as a result, the servers — and ultimately the entire stress test — came crashing down.

It’s important to understand that this wasn’t an early access session, nor was it an Alpha or a Beta; rather, it was a stress test. It may have failed, but sometimes failures are necessary so that developers may learn what they need to know for when the game is released to the public.

Everything We Know So Far About the Game

PvP 5v5

Predecessor, like Valorant, CS: GO, Overwatch, and others, will be a 5v5 multiplayer game. We also know that it will take place on a traditional three-lane map, which is a common design choice for high-quality maps in most multiplayer games.

Unique Heroes

Just like with Valorant and Overwatch, each player on the team must choose a different hero before each game begins. A team cannot have more than one of each hero. Each hero will have unique special abilities that can be used to benefit the team as a whole, and players will need to effectively communicate in order to reap the benefits of each individual character’s special abilities.

MOBA

The predecessor is distinct in that it is a MOBA rather than an FPS.

This places it alongside eSports behemoths such as League of Legends and Dota 2, rather than the tactical shooters we previously mentioned.

Predecessor, on the other hand, is a true third-person game, as opposed to League of Legends and Dota, which are ‘third-person isometric’ — or played via an overhead camera — which means the mechanics of this game will be quite unique and you’ll really feel like you’re in the heart of the action.

The Unreal Engine

The predecessor is built with Epic’s Unreal Engine, which is perhaps unsurprising given that it was previously an Epic Games project.
