“Midnights”; Taylor Swift Has Become Spotify’s Most-Streamed Artist Breaking Two Records

Fans all over the world were waiting with bated breath as midnight on Friday, October 21 approached. It was about time that Swift released her 10th studio album, her fifth in less than two years.

At twelve o’clock midnight, the wait was over, and the appropriately named Midnights were devoured by fans all across the world. The long-awaited album has broken not one but two new Spotify records.

Taylor Swift‘s Midnights was the most-streamed album on Spotify a single day on October 21, 2022, and Taylor herself was the most-streamed artist in a single day.

Whoever wrote those lyrics deserves a round of applause.

Taylor Swift congratulated her fans for “doing something mind-blowing” after her new album became the most-streamed album on Spotify in a 24-hour period.

The newest offering from the pop superstar, titled Midnights, was released on Friday.

Less than 24 hours later, the music streaming giant made an online announcement that the album had broken all previous records for the number of streams in a single day on its platform.

When the clock struck midnight on October 22nd, Taylor Swift’s 1989 album had already become Spotify’s most-streamed album in a 24-hour period. The official Twitter account congratulated Taylor Swift by tweeting, “Congratulations, Taylor.”

When she heard the news, Swift remarked, “How did I get this lucky, having you guys out here doing something this mind-blowing?! What on earth is going on?!

Review of Taylor Swift’s Midnights: intimate pop bursting with introspection and genre-defying surprises.

Swift surprised her audience by announcing the album at the very end of the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, which took place in August in New Jersey.

She has called the album “a trip between terrors and pleasant dreams” and the story of “13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life.”

She departs from the personal indie songwriting of her previous two albums (Folklore and Evermore) in favour of electronica, synth-pop, and occasionally hip-hop-influenced beats in this new work.

Swift and Jack Antonoff, frontman of the rock band Bleachers, have collaborated once again on the album’s writing.

To celebrate the album’s release, she posted a selfie of herself and her band members to Instagram, tagging Antonoff as her “co-pilot.”

“He’s my friend for life” (presumptuous, I know, but I stand by it), she wrote of the album’s producer, “and we’ve been making music together for nearly a decade.”

“We’d been kicking about ideas, and we’d written a few things we loved, but Midnights actually truly solidified and flowed out of us when our partners (both actors) performed a film together in Panama.

When Jack and I got back to New York, we were on our own, so we recorded every night, stayed up late, and dug into our prior midnights.

She went on to say that “Midnights” was a patchwork of emotional extremes.

Darkness, stars, clouds, fear, excitement, heat, cold, romance, or loneliness are all possible in this life. same as Midnights “
