Matt Damon and Adam Driver to be seen having a ‘Medieval Showdown’ in Ridley Scott’s ‘The Last Duel’

Ridley Scott a four-time Academy Awards nominated director is set to release a historic epic “The Last Duel” which is set to release on 15 October of this year. The movie stars Matt Damon and Adam Driver as leads.

The film is based on true events. It adapts Eric Jager’s book “The Last Duel: A True Story of Crime, Scandal, and Trial by Combat in Medieval France”,  interpreting assumptions about what actually happened between the two men.

Matt Damon, an oscar winner plays the role of Jean De Carrouges who is a respected knight and Adam Driver, an oscar nominee plays Jacques Le Gris an intelligent Norman who is an admired noble. Along with the duo, the movie also stars Jodie Comer, an Emmy winner as Marguerite de Carrouges as Jean De Carrouges’s wife and two times Oscar winner Ben Affleck as Count Pierre d’Alencon.

The movie is set during the Hundred Years War and portrays a “duel of trust, betrayal, vengeance and hurt” The friendship of Carrouges and Le Gris goes south when, Marguerite de Carrouges, Carrouges’s wife accuses Le Gris of assaulting her.

“The Last Duel” is written by Nicole Holofcener, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. The film is produced by Scott, Kevin J. Walsh, Jennifer Fox, Holofcener, Damon and Affleck with Kevin Halloran, Drew Vinton, Madison Ainley serving as executive producers.
