In the remake of Ocean’s Eleven, which came out just over 20 years ago, George Clooney and Julia Roberts played a divorced couple who eventually got back together. They got back together in two sequels, and they’re going to do it again in Ticket to Paradise, a romantic comedy coming out soon. In this movie, Clooney and Roberts’ characters hate each other, as you can see in the first trailer below.
They think that getting married was the worst mistake they’ve ever made. But they have one strange thing in common: they both want to stop their daughter Lily’s wedding (Kaitlyn Dever).
For background, Lily and her friend Wren Butler (Billie Lourd) went on vacation to a tropical paradise, where Lily met a guy and decided to get married. Lily’s parents are so angry about this turn of events that they call a truce to break up their daughter’s new relationship. Along the way, they might remember what attracted them to each other in the first place.
Here’s what Working Title Films says about the Plot:
“Academy Award winners George Clooney and Julia Roberts reunite on the big screen as exes who find themselves on a shared mission to stop their lovestruck daughter from making the same mistake they once made. From Working Title, Smokehouse Pictures, and Red Om Films, Ticket to Paradise is a romantic comedy about the sweet surprise of second chances.”
Talha entürk, Maxime Bouttier, Murran Kain, Sean Lynch, Vanesa Everett, Cintya Dharmayanti, Rowan Chapman, and Dorian Djoudi also have roles in the movie.
Ol Parker directed Ticket to Paradise, based on a script he wrote with Daniel Lipski. On Friday, October 21, it will be shown in theaters. Also, the movie will be available to stream for the first time on Peacock 45 days later.
