Joaquim Valente’s Career
Jujutsu is something Joaquim Valente has studied since he was a newborn. He trained under Brazilian martial artist Helio Gracie with his siblings. As he became older, he started attending Gracie Academy, where different martial artists taught him jujutsu. In addition to studying jujutsu, he started boxing and judo training.
He took his time to travel to Helio to train with the grandmaster once he moved to the United States. He finished the jujutsu Professor’s course and received the title of Professor from Grandmaster Helio Gracie prior to graduating. As a result, he became one of just 27 individuals to receive this honor from Helio.
Along with his brothers, he joined Valente Brothers after receiving his degree from Barry University and rose to the position of professor there. They provide a variety of programs from which one can select and start learning self-defense.
