About The Mosquito Coast

The Mosquito Coast is an American drama television series created by Neil Cross and Tom Bissell based on Paul Theroux’s 1981 novel. It is also a loose adaptation of the Harrison Ford-starring picture from 1986. Paul’s nephews, Justin Theroux and Melissa George play critical roles in the series, with Logan Polish and Gabriel Bateman rounding out the core cast. Along with Rupert Wyatt, who directed the first two episodes, Justin Theroux also acts as executive producer of the series.

The series follows its protagonist through his journey from fleeing his home in California to Honduras with his family in tow. Along their travels, they experience many trials and tribulations while trying to find a new place to call home where they can live peacefully without worrying about being discovered or harmed by those pursuing them.

Seven episodes comprise the first season, aired on Apple TV+ on April 30, 2021, and concluded on June 4, 2021. The sitcom was renewed for a second season of ten episodes in June 2021. The debut of the second season occurred on November 4, 2022.
