The Glory Season 2: Is the Series Renewed for another Season?

South Korea’s next original Netflix series, The Glory, is a revenge drama written by Descendants of the Sun creator Kim Eun Sook. The series was premiered on 30th of December 2022. Thus viewership numbers in the first few weeks after its debut will be a good sign of the success (or failure) of the series overall and, more crucially, of whether or not it will be renewed for a second season. Will The Glory Have a Season 2?

According to sources, Netflix has not officially confirmed or denied that release date. However, Director Ahn Gil-ho has stated that filming for The Glory season 2 has already begun. At a press conference earlier this month, Gil-ho announced the premiere dates for both seasons: “[Season] 1 will be released on December 30, and [Season] 2 will be released around March.” He went on, “I ask for your curiosity and love.” The Glory is a revenge play through and through,” writer Kim Eun-sook emphasized. Moon Dong-eun, a woman who underwent serious violence in high school, risks her entire life to exact her vengeance.

About The Glory

As stated in the plot summary, “Moon Dong-eun aspired to be an architect in high school. But after being attacked so violently by her tormentors, Moon Dong-eun has no choice but to leave school. The bully eventually settles down, gets married, and enrolls his son in the same elementary school where Moon Dong-eun now works as a homeroom teacher, many years later. Years in the making, Moon Don-eun finally launches her plan of vengeance against her schoolyard tormentors and classmates who did nothing while she was victimized. Director Ahn Gil-ho, who also worked on Memories of the Alhambra and Record of Youth, is in charge of The Glory. Kim Eun-sook, who has written for such popular Korean dramas as Descendants of the Sun and Goblin, is collaborating with Ahn on the screenplay.
