Marvel Studios has made the decision to organize their upcoming slate of motion pictures and television shows during the San Diego Comic-Con, unveiling every project that is a part of Phase 5 of the MCU. Marvel Studios announced interesting new projects and release dates for projects that had already been announced, such as the Captain America movie with Anthony Mackie and Charlie Cox’s return to the role of Daredevil.
The sequel to “The Infinity Saga,” which covered Phases 1 to 3, “The Multiverse Saga” is the latest MCU storyline, according to Marvel Studios’ presentation at SDCC. The new story will have three different phases, similar to the last one, with Phase 4 expected to conclude this year following the release of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law on Disney+ and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in theatres. In 2023, Phase 5 will start, and Jonathan Majors will play Kang the Conquerer, the major antagonist who will hang over all upcoming films and television shows for a few years.
Marvel Phase 5 Movies & Series
Phase 5 of the MCU begins with the already announced Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which stars Kang as the primary antagonist. Along with previously announced Disney+ programs like Echo and Ironheart, Phase 5 also contains eagerly anticipated films like The Marvels and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. But other brand-new games, like Thunderbolts, are on the way. Since everyone knows a lot right now, let’s look at each movie and TV show in Phase 5 of the MCU in order.

Six movies and six Disney+ series total, with the “Thunderbolts” film ushering in Phase 5’s conclusion in 2024. In a noteworthy 18-episode season of “Daredevil: Born Again,” Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio will return to their respective roles from the Netflix series. Anthony Mackie will play the next Captain America in “Captain America: New World Order,” with Oscar-winning actor Mahershala Ali starring in “Blade” (which begins production in October).
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which ushers in Phase 5, brings Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), and Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton) back together as they investigate the Quantum Realm, embark on time-traveling adventures, and battle Kang. Additionally returning are Michael Douglas as Hank Pym and Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet Van Dyne. Bill Muray is also scheduled to show up, and MODOK is expected to show up as a supporting bad guy.
Secret Invasion
A Secret Invasion, starring Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, will examine an alien invasion by the Skrull, a race of shape-shifting creatures that can adopt the appearance of anyone they encounter just once. Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, Don Cheadle as James “Rhodey” Rhodes, Martin Freeman’s Everett K. Ross, and Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill are also returning for the season. Emilia Clarke, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Olivia Colman, Killian Scott, Christopher McDonald, Carmen Ejogo, and Regé-Jean Page are all featured in the series.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
The third instalment of James Gunn’s cherished series about the galactic outcasts, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, will mark the series’ conclusion. Will Poulter will play Adam Warlock in the movie, along with Chukwudi Iwuji as the High Evolutionary, Maria Bakalova as Cosmo the Spacedog, and a Baby Rocket. Additionally, returning are Karen Gillan as Nebula, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax, and Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon. Sylvester Stallone, who played Gillan in Vol. 2, and Elizabeth Debicki, who played the Golden High Priestess of the Sovereign, will both appear in Vol. 3.
Echo
The popular Hawkeye series’ spinoff, Echo, stars Alaqua Cox as the titular deaf heroine. For the series, Vincent D’Onofrio will reprise his role as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, and Charlie Cox will play Matt Murdock/Daredevil. Zahn McClarnon is back as Maya’s father, and he is joined by Devery Jacobs, Graham Greene, Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Cody Lightning, and the rest of the supporting cast.
The Marvels
The Marvels, which was originally intended to be a Captain Marvel sequel, ended up becoming an ensemble movie starring Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. Additionally, Ms. Marvel, a TV series on Disney+, is directly related to the film.
Loki, Season 2
Season 2 of Loki will pick up where we left off after Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) erroneously altered the chronology and unleashed Kang the Conqueror’s wrath. Owen Wilson’s performance as Mobius will also return in the series.
Blade
After his mid-credits appearances in Eternals, Blade, starring Mahershala Ali as the titular vampire hunter, will formally debut the Daywalker in the MCU. Delroy Lindo and Aaron Pierre are also featured in the movie.
Ironheart
Dominique Thorne plays Riri Williams, the title character of Ironheart, a young genius who fills the void left by Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.). In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Riri will make her acting debut before taking the lead in her own standalone series. Alden Ehrenreich, Anthony Ramos, Harper Anthony, and Manny Montana also appear in the series.
Agatha: Coven of Chaos
Agatha: Coven of Chaos, formerly known as Agatha: House of Harkness, is a WandaVision spinoff that centers on Kathryn Hahn’s titular witch. It’s still unclear whether the show will be a prequel or continue the story that WandaVision began.
Captain America: New World Order
Captain America: New World Order, played by Anthony Mackie, assumed the role of Captain America in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and he is now prepared to star in Captain America: New World Order, a theatrical release. Even though the movie’s cast hasn’t been announced yet, Sebastian Stan may be back as James “Bucky” Barnes, who used to be known as the Winter Soldier.
Daredevil: Born Again
For his own MCU series, Daredevil: Born Again, Cox will don the superhero costume for the first time after appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Echo. The series will have eighteen episodes, making it the longest Marvel Disney+ series to date.
Thunderbolts
The MCU’s middle installment of “The Multiverse Saga,” Thunderbolts, focuses on a superteam made up of villains and wraps up Phase 5 of the MCU. Although we don’t know much about the project, it’s likely that Daniel Brühl will play Baron Zemo, the Thunderbolts’ original leader in Marvel Comics. The conniving Countessa Valentina, played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is probably related to the film.
