Harley Quinn Season 3 Trailer Features the Return of Harley and Ivy in a Nasty and Bloody

Start the tour for Eat, Bang, Kill! WB Animation put out a teaser for Season 3 of Harley Quinn before its panel at San Diego Comic-Con. In the 1.5-minute clip, Harley wishes her BFF-turned-GFP Poison Ivy a “happy two-week anniversary” and gives Amanda Waller, the leader of the Suicide Squad, a body bag as a gift. The teaser for the third season says that the show will be “dirtier,” “Freaker,” and “creepier.”

Even though many of the same people are back to continue the story, one new character stands out. James Gunn, who made The Suicide Squad, made his first animation as himself. About a minute into the clip, we see an avatar of Gunn with white hair and square glasses sitting in a vibrating chair and holding what looks like the script for his Thomas Wayne movie in that universe.

Even though Gunn’s addition is interesting, it doesn’t come as a surprise because Harley Quinn co-creator Patrick Schumacker had already told SlashFilms about his addiction to the Season 3 cast. Schumacher said, “He (Gunn) plays himself and directs a movie about Thomas Wayne in which he plays himself.” After the news broke, Gunn went on Twitter and said,

In the second season of the animated show, Harley and Ivy started to fall in love with each other. At the end of the show, Ivy and Kite Man run away from her wedding so that they can leave Gotham with Harley. The teaser confirms that Harley and Ivy will be dealing with their new love while still running the criminal underworld of Gotham.

In Season 3, Kaley Cuoco plays Harley, Lake Bell plays Poison Ivy, Alan Tudyk plays The Joker and Clayface, Tony Hale plays Doctor Psycho, Ron Funches plays King Shark, Jason Alexander plays Sy Borgman, J.B. Smoove plays Frank the Plant, Dietrich Bader plays Batman, James Adomian plays Bane, and Christopher Meloni plays Jim Gordon.

At the next San Diego Comic-Con, two episodes of Harley Quinn will be shown before they air. But the first three episodes of the show will air on HBO Max on July 28. In the meantime, here’s a new sneak peek and summary of the ten-part series:
