Tina Turner Husband: Her Lasting Influence and Love’s Triumph!

Tina Turner, the well-known American-born Swiss singer, songwriter, dancer, and actor, was born Anna Mae Bullock on November 26, 1939. Known for her strong vocals, captivating onstage persona, and unwavering determination, Turner gained notoriety throughout the 1960s while performing with the Ike & Tina Turner Revue.

She ended her turbulent relationship with Ike Turner, both personally and professionally, and started a solo career that catapulted her into international superstardom. Popular songs like “Simply the Best” and “What’s Love Got to Do with It” cemented her reputation as the “Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll.” Turner’s influence inspires millions of people globally, spanning across generations.

With her husband, Erwin Bach, Tina Turner discovered true love. Turner and Bach had a 27-year relationship and were wed for ten years before she passed away on May 24, 2023, following a protracted illness.

The pair experienced many beautiful times and significant life events together during their decades-long partnership. Additionally, Turner said that Bach had taught her “to love without giving up who I am.” Over the years, the couple maintained a largely private relationship.

Tina Turner’s Children

Turner had two biological sons: Raymond Craig, born August 20, 1958, with Kings of Rhythm saxophonist Raymond Hill, and Ronald “Ronnie” Renelle Turner, born October 27, 1960, with Ike Turner.

Two of Ike Turner’s children were adopted and raised by her. Turner had her first son at 18. Ike Turner adopted Raymond Craig Hill and renamed him Craig Raymond Turner. July 2018 saw Craig’s alleged suicide.

Ronnie Turner, Turner’s younger son, performed bass in Manufactured Funk with Patrick Moten. Ronnie played in both parents’ bands. Through him, Turner has 2 grandkids. He married French singer Afida Turner. Colon cancer killed Ronnie in December 2022.

Ike granted Tina one month’s rent and sent their four sons to live with her during Turner’s divorce proceedings. Ike Turner Jr. won a Grammy for producing his father’s album Risin’ with the Blues after working as a sound engineer at Bolic Sound and temporarily for Turner after her divorce.

He toured with Sweet Randi Love and the Love Thang Band. Ike Turner Jr. said he and his siblings were separated from their mother. Turner wrote in her autobiography I, Tina, that she was “a little bit estranged” from her sons, except Craig, after her divorce. On TV Week in 1989, Turner said, “She’s still there for the boys,” despite stories of her alienation from her sons before her death.

Tina Turner’s Death

Turner passed away at the age of 83 on May 24, 2023, at her Küsnacht, Switzerland, home after a protracted illness. Turner had a private funeral before his body was cremated.

At the 2023 BET Awards, Patti LaBelle sang a rendition of “The Best” in honor of Turner.
