Akiva Goldsman, Alex Kurtzman, and Jenny Lumet are behind the upcoming American television series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, which will be streamed on Paramount+. It will be part of Kurtzman’s expanded Star Trek Universe when it debuts in 2022. Star Trek: Enterprise is a spin-off of Star Trek: Discovery and a prequel to Star Trek: The Original Series that follows Captain Christopher Pike and his crew.
Pike, Number One, and Spock are all back, with Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, and Ethan Peck returning their roles from Discovery. In 2019, these actors have been cast in the roles of Star Trek: Discovery’s original series characters, who were first presented in the original series. Kurtzman indicated interest in reuniting the cast in their own spin-off series after great fan response. When it was formally ordered in May of that year, work on it had already began in March. Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers, the show’s creators and showrunners, had already been announced. Celia Rose Gooding, Melissa Navia, and Bruce Horak also appear in the series starring Baba Olusanmokun. A large portion of the show was shot on location in New Mexico as well as at CBS Stages Canada in Mississauga, Ontario, from February to October of 2021.
What is the release date for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds?
For a few years now, “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” has been under development. Fans of “Star Trek: Discovery” were clamouring for a complete series when the character and his legendary ship featured in Season 2 of the show. “Star Trek” showrunner Akiva Goldsman and current showrunner Alex Kurtzman had been “tossing ideas back and forth” since 2020, when Kurtzman made the announcement that he and Goldsman were working on a new programme centred around Captain Pike (via Pittsburgh Post-Gazette). A Pike spin-off was formally announced by CBS in May 2020, with Kurtzman serving as showrunner and Goldsman serving as a writer (via The Hollywood Reporter). But we didn’t have an official release date for “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” until we saw a promotional poster early this year.
On May 5, 2022, “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” will launch exclusively on Paramount+, CBS Viacom’s recently renamed digital streaming service, which has become home to the current-era “Star Trek” programmes.

There will be another season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, which will start on Thursday, May 5. After the first episode, new episodes will be released on Thursdays every week.
Who will appear in the cast of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds?
Captain Pike was first seen in “Star Trek: Discovery,” and he will be seen again in “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,” both of which will be played by actor Anson Mount. On the other side of the screen will be an assortment of well-known characters, performed by a diverse range of actors, as well as some newbies who may be harbouring some intriguing secrets of their own.
Ethan Peck reprises his role as Spock, who is still a science officer and has not yet been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Una Chin-Riley is the current first officer of Pike’s enterprise, and she is once again played by Rebecca Romijn in this role. Nyota Uhura, who is performed by Celia Rose Gooding, is another character that is well-liked by fans of “The Original Series.” In the same way as Spock is not yet a commanding officer, she is identified as a cadet in the casting announcement for “Strange New Worlds.” The Nurse Chapel on the Enterprise will be another welcome comeback from the original “Star Trek” series from the 1960s, played this time by Jess Bush. Despite the fact that he only appeared in two episodes of the original series, medical officer Dr. M’Benga is returning to the Enterprise, and he will be played by Babs Olusanmokun this season.
There are also a slew of brand new characters to meet. Hemmer is an Aenar, a kind of blind extraterrestrial that serves as a Starfleet officer. Bruce Horak, a visually impaired actor, will take on the role of the main character (via Trekmovie). The character of Lieutenant Erica Ortegas, who will be played by Melissa Navia, is another newbie to the cast. To devout Trekkies, Christina Chong’s character La’an Noonien-Singh, is undoubtedly the most intriguing addition to the programme so far, if not the most fascinating. Many fans would recognise that last name because it is the surname of Khan Noonien-Singh, Captain Kirk’s most hated foe in Star Trek: The Next Generation. The writer Akiva Goldsman verified that she is related to him, but is there something else she’s keeping hidden? It’s almost certain to be one of the more intriguing mysteries that “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” will uncover in its investigation.
