Riverdale season 7 Release Date

Riverdale Season 7 Renewed at CW – Cast, Plot & When Will It Release?

Season 7 of Riverdale will be the last one, but when will it come out so fans can watch it?

Since 2017, Riverdale has been a regular part of The CW’s shows. The crazy drama based on Archie Comics has confused, shocked, and amazing fans on the network in the US, and it has reached even more people around the world through Netflix.

The sixth season of the show is over, and to say it was the craziest one yet would be a huge understatement. Starting with a “five-episode-event” in an alternate world called Rivervale, the show would then show that Archie Andrews, Jughead Jones, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, Tabitha Tate, and Cheryl Blossom all had superpowers. Yes, special skills.

The gang’s rivalry with the evil Percival Pickens set the stage for a dramatic season finale in which a comet threatened to wipe out Riverdale. And that, by itself, has set the stage for a very interesting seventh season. Also, when does the seventh season of Riverdale start?

Riverdale season 7 release date

Season 7 of Riverdale will start on The CW in 2023. A lucky few shows, including this one, were given season 7 in March, just a few months before the network canceled half of its shows. But it turned out that it wouldn’t be on the network’s fall schedule because it wouldn’t be shown until 2023.

The most likely times for it to come out are in February or March. That’s when The CW’s midseason shows would usually start.

Riverdale season 7 is the last season of the show, so don’t be too surprised if they decide to hold it off until closer to summer.

But those are just guesses, so it’s best to wait until The CW makes an official announcement.

Riverdale season 7 Cast

In the last season, you can expect to see all of these Riverdale residents again:

• KJ Apa as Archie Andrews
• Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper
• Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge
• Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones
• Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl Blossom
• Mädchen Amick as Alice Smith
• Casey Cott as Kevin Keller
• Charles Melton as Reggie Mantle
• Vanessa Morgan as Toni Topaz
• Drew Ray Tanner as Fangs Fogarty
• Erinn Westbrook as Tabitha Tate

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who is in charge of the show, told Decider that we might also see some old cast members come back for one last appearance: “My hope is that season seven, which is our swan song, we see people we haven’t seen a return to Riverdale in good, juicy story arcs. That’s kind of what my hope is, that it’s a celebration and a reunion for everyone that’s been a part of Riverdale, and worked so hard to make the show as special as it was. You know, again, a million things to figure out, but that’s my hope, is that people we haven’t seen come back, more than anything.”

Yes, that could mean that Jughead’s dad, FP, could also come back to town.

Aguirre-Sacasa said, “Listen, I would love, love, love, love, love, love to have Skeet Ulrich back.” “I would, and I think everyone else would too, so I hope we can do that this season.”

Then there’s Sabrina, of course. After her cameos in season six, it looks like everyone’s favorite teenage witch might be back after her own show is over.

Kiernan Shipka, who plays Sabrina, told Collider, “Yeah, she has to come back.”

“I think they’re gonna need her help again. Like for entertainment’s sake, I would say [they should] lean into the chaos – no pun intended – as much as they can and work hard and have faith that it’s all gonna work out, but at the end of the day, just truly probably call Sabrina again. I think they’re gonna need her, to be quite honest.”

What will happen in Riverdale season 7?

During his conversation with Decider, showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa hinted that the supernatural events of season six will still have an effect on the final story, even though most of the characters have mostly forgotten what happened with Percival:

“It’s not a hard break with everything that came before. Everything that happened stays in Jughead’s mind. And I think our characters have an emotional memory of what they’ve been through, whether they are aware of it or not.”

“So, again, Rivervale is in continuity. I tried to say this after the Rivervale event. It’s not just five episodes that don’t fit together. And I think everyone saw how much it depended on Riverdale and how much it depended on season six. So, I don’t think that season seven is the start of a new story arc. It still hasn’t stopped.”

When asked what would happen to fan-favorite couples like Barchie, Choni, and Tabitha in the future, Roberto hinted that things might change after that big twist:

“What words should I use? Some of the couples who are featured in the last episode will stay together. Some will change into something new, and there will also be new… There will definitely be new pairings.”

This is especially true for gay characters like Kevin and Toni, who now have to deal with their sexuality in a much less accepting time:

“In the 1950s, things will be very different. They will be locked away. They will need to find different ways to get in touch with each other. So, one of the interesting things about the story for us is how the characters we’ve gotten to know in the “near present” deal with Euphoria problems or realities in the 1950s.”

Don’t think that this big twist will be explained in just one episode.

Roberto said, “We haven’t worked it out yet.” “On the last day of filming, I was talking to Lili Reinhart, and she said, “Oh, it’s so fun to be in the 1950s.” And I’m like, ‘Yes, settle in.’ She asked, “Are we going to be here for a long time?” And I said, “Yep, we’ll be here for a while.” So, I can say for sure that it won’t be a one-time deal.”
