Michelle Monaghan to play identical twins in Netflix’s “Echoes”, an upcoming psychological thriller

“Echoes” an upcoming Netflix psychological thriller by ’13 Reasons Why’ executive producer Brian Yorkey and co-showrunner of ‘Runaways’ Quinton Peeples star American actress Michelle Monaghan to play identical twins.

“Echoes” is the first series under a multi-year creative partnership between Netflix and the Pulitzer Prize-winning writer and producer Yorkey for series and other projects.

Monaghan is an aspiring actress who got her big break in Shane Black’s “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” in 2005, recently starred in Netflix’s geopolitical thriller “Messiah.”

Her other television credit includes co-starring in the HBO drama “True Detective” alongside Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. Michelle’s portrayal of Maggie Hart also got her nominated for a Golden Globe.

“Echoes” is a mystery thriller about two identical twins, Leni and Gina, who share a dangerous secret: Since they were children, they have secretly swapped lives, culminating in a double life as adults. But their perfect lives go downhill when one sister goes missing.

Though the sisters look the same by appearance, their personalities are far from similar. Leni is the one who is content to stay home, while Gina is the rebellious sister who wants to escape her reality and goes to L.A. and rose to quick fame writing about a darker undertow that informed her Southern childhood. – ‘Logline’
