Marvel star Robert Downey Jr. pays tribute to his late father Robert Downey Sr. via a heartfelt post

Robert Downey Sr, died at the age of 85, on 6th July, after fighting a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. His Marvel star son Robert Downey Jr confirmed this news on 7th July, through an Instagram post along with a heart-rendering and emotional message.

Robert Downey Jr, attached the caption with a black and white young photo of his father Robert Downey Sr and wrote, “RIP Bob D. Sr. 1936-2021…Last night, dad passed peacefully in his sleep after years of enduring the ravages of Parkinson’s ..he was a true maverick filmmaker, and remained remarkably optimistic throughout..According to my stepmoms calculations, they were happily married for just over 2000 years.
Rosemary Rogers-Downey, you are a saint, and our thoughts and prayers are with you.” 

Robert Downey Sr, survived by his third wife Rosemary Rogers-Downey, and his two children, Robert Downey Jr.,56, and his daughter Allyson Downey,57.  

Robert Downey Sr, is famously known for his role as a director, producer, writer, actor, and cinematographer. He started his career with a 1953 documentary short film, The American Road.  

He is best known for his direction in the satirical film Putney Swope. In his career, he had many roles in movies like, Boogie Nights, Magnolia, to live and die in L.A., and on The Twilight Zone.  

Robert Downey Sr also did his job as a great father and directed his son and shaped him into the amazing star that he is today. He directed his son in movies like Pound Greaser’s Palace, Moment to Moment, Up the Academy, America, Hugo Pool, Too Much Sun, and Rented lips.  

He was a celebrated artist whose work in the field of art is enough to leave his prominent mark in this world.
