Logan 2 Release Date: Will the Action Superhero Film Hit Theaters In 2024?
Within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) community, speculation and excitement are building to a fever pitch around rumours of a possible “Logan 2” film starring none other than the legendary Hugh Jackman.
Fans are waiting impatiently for any updates regarding the status of this much-awaited sequel, which they hope will finally be released in 2024. We will cover all there is to know about Logan 2 release date in this article!
Logan 2 Release Date
There is conjecture that Disney and Marvel Studios are preparing to release a follow-up to 2017’s Logan, which featured Hugh Jackman’s most recent appearance as James Logan/Wolverine, thanks to a fan-made teaser. But as of now, there is no set release date.
The teaser, which was posted on the KH Studios YouTube page, hinted at a meeting between Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange and Wolverine, in which the well-known mutant is brought back to life after Strange approaches him. Additionally, there is footage of Ryan Reynolds’s Deadpool and Patrick Stewart’s Professor X in the teaser.
Director James Mangold hinted at the possibility of Logan 2 or a spin-off after the film’s 2017 release, telling The Hollywood Reporter in October 2017 that he was “just working on a script” for a spin-off starring X-23. In the midst of this, you can also read details about Godzilla Minus One.
In response, Mangold discussed the critical acclaim garnered by Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman in June 2017, which demonstrated to studios that at the time, there was “less to fear with a female protagonist”:
“Patty [Jenkins]’s success with that film only solidifies more for studios that there’s less to fear with a female protagonist. The more that keeps getting hit home, the ends up giving me space turning around and going, ‘Well here we are with a female protagonist.”
“That’s incredible. And what are we going to do with her?’ And that’s where we are with that [the Laura script] right now, dreaming.”
Mangold regretfully revealed to Yahoo in 2019 that this spin-off will not go further, suggesting that Marvel was concentrating on determining “where they’re going in the future” with Wolverine:
“I think it’s probably – at least in the near time – gone until I hear different,” he revealed. “With Hugh [Jackman] moving on, I think they’re going to be more interested in trying to figure out where they’re going in the future with these characters in general, and with Wolverine in specific.”
Is Logan 2 Ever Going To Happen?
Logan 2 isn’t expected to be released in 2024 as of right now, as it doesn’t seem like Marvel Studios is considering developing it. The first Logan movie did great at the box office and earned $619 million around the globe.

Fortunately, Hugh Jackman’s return to the character of Wolverine is still on track, as Deadpool 3 from Marvel Studios is set to take place within the MCU and include him bringing James Logan back into the spotlight.
Deadpool 3, which stars Reynolds and Jackman in a co-lead role, is expected to give the iconic actor a significant position in the MCU—something that fans have long desired. In addition to this, you can read more about Class Of 07 Season 2 release date.
Many people think that after making one final appearance as Wolverine in Avengers: Secret Wars, Jackman will be done portraying the character for good, that this threequel is part of his swan song run.
Although Logan 2 appears to be a lost cause, Jackman’s MCU debut is generating a lot of anticipation, particularly since Deadpool 3 is the only film from Marvel Studios that will be released this year.
