Jason Ritter Early Life
In Los Angeles, California, on February 17, 1980, Jason Morgan Ritter entered the world. Besides his full sisters Tyler and Carly, and half-sister Stella (whose mom is “Wings” actress Amy Yasbeck), he is the son of actors John Ritter and Nancy Morgan.
John tragically passed away in September 2003 from an aortic dissection after collapsing on the set of “8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter.”
When asked about his father’s passing in a 2010 interview with “Huffpost,” Jason said:
“I went downhill for a while. It was interesting because [his death] happened right when I signed on to shoot ‘Joan of Arcadia.’ My character dealt with his tragedy by making fun of it all the time. I don’t know if that had anything to do with it, but I started to do that myself. And it’s not the healthiest way to deal with it.”
In the opening credits of John’s sitcom “Three’s Company,” Jason made his first screen appearance at the petting zoo. Ritter and Simon Helberg went to the same high school (Crossroads School) in Santa Monica and then roomed together at NYU.
Jason attended the Atlantic Theater Company while pursuing his BFA in Drama at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He eventually moved to London to attend the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

In 2020, Jason and Melanie wed in a tiny ceremony, and in 2022, Lynskey remarked, “I was going to Canada for ‘Yellowjackets,’ and I was on the phone with somebody, and they said, ‘Oh, he won’t be let in.
