Hundreds of followers instantly began posting condolences on the Facebook page, expressing their sorrow at the death of the 82-year-old great singer and songwriter. And as usual, the death hoax enraged the Twittersphere.

While some trusting followers believed the post, others were immediately wary, possibly having learned their lesson from the plethora of false celebrity death stories that have surfaced in recent months.
