‘Harry Potter’ fame Jessie Cave opens up on being treated differently post weight gain


Amid body positivity revolution in the Hollywood industry, a groundbreaking statement by Jessie Cave from who played the role of lavender brown in three Harry Potter movies said that she was “treated like a different species” after gaining weight between movies.  

In an interview with the UK newspaper, the independent published on Wednesday, June 30 the now 34-year-old actress and writer shared her experiences, on how she was ill-treated on the set of Harry Potter when she gained weight. She made her debut at the age of 20 in 2009 as lavender brown in the movie Harry Potter and the half-blood Prince. She harked back to the time when she was dealing with emotional challenges after she put on several pounds after her debut performance.  

The actress said, “I again the lot of weight after doing Harry Potter, just because I wasn’t starving myself,” she added, “And I was growing up and that’s just what happens.” 

Her role was later required in the seventh and eighth film of the franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and 2. After her role in the debut movie when she returned back to reprise her role of lavender “she was treated like a different species.” When asked about the details, she did not elaborate on who behaved with her in this certain way. 

She explained her experience as “horrible and uncomfortable,” she added, “It was probably more me and my insecurity, knowing that I wasn’t fitting into the same size jeans.” 

The actress is not also a writer, comedian, and cartoonist and has many appearances in many movies and tv series over the past.
