A comedy-drama television series created by Eliot Laurence, Claws premiered on Turner Network Television (TNT) on June 11, 2017, and has since been renewed for a second season. Viewers can also access it through the on-demand streaming service Amazon Prime Video. While the majority of the episodes are shot in New Orleans, the majority of the episodes are set in Palmetto, Florida. The show received an average rating of 7.4/10 on IMDb, and 88 percent of Google users expressed interest in it. Claws were originally intended to be a single-camera comedy show for HBO, but it was canceled. In addition, the series incorporates elements of the dark comedy and crime drama genres.

Because of the ongoing pandemic and the show’s ratings that have been steadily declining, the show’s fourth and final season premiered in December 2021, marking the show’s end. After that, the show was canceled, and as of right now, there is no word on whether or not Claws Season 5 will be renewed or when it will premiere. Season 4’s finale brought the storyline to a satisfactory conclusion, and it appears that the show’s creators are no longer involved with the project. It is highly unlikely that this show will continue in its current form.

Throughout Claws, the story revolves around five diverse and hardworking manicurists who work together to run the Nail Artisans salon in Los Angeles. Desna is the proprietor of the salon, which is located in Manatee County, Florida. Jennifer, on the other hand, is the mother of two children from a previous relationship with another man. When the five of them find themselves struggling to make ends meet, they turn to the world of organized crime for assistance. After a while, they begin to launder money for a pain clinic in the neighborhood. The ruthless head of the Husser crime family, Uncle Daddy, withholds some of Desna’s money, and Desna puts the blame on her shady redneck boyfriend, Roller, for the withholding. Also, he is the adopted son of Uncle Daddy, who raised him as his own.

When Jennifer’s ex-husband and ambulance coach, Bryce, reappears on the scene, things become just as shady as they had been previously. Desna discovers that Roller has been cheating on her with Virginia and launches an assassination attempt against him. Later in the show, it is revealed why Desna is putting forth such significant effort to improve the lives of herself and her brother. Along with Desna’s secrets, the secrets of the other characters are revealed one by one as well.

According to reviews on websites such as IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, and Metacritic, the first two seasons of Claws received overwhelmingly positive responses. On IMDb, the average rating was approximately 7.3 out of 10. After 30-40 people liked the show on Rotten Tomatoes, the percentage of people who liked it reached an all-time high of 80 percent. Although there was some enthusiasm for season 3 and season 4, there was not as much enthusiasm for season 3. This could also be one of the reasons why the show was canceled, as previously stated.
