The Society season 2

‘The Society’ Season 2 Canceled By Netflix Due To COVID-Related Circumstances

The Society’s second season has been renewed by Netflix. Due to COVID-19, the YA drama has been terminated and will not be returning for a second season. I Am Not Okay With This, another coming-of-age show, will not be getting a second season on Netflix.

Even though I Am Not Okay With This had not received an official renewal, I’ve heard that the show had been picked up for a second season, the scripts had been produced, and production was on track.

Season 2 of The Society, which had been scheduled to broadcast in late 2020, was resurrected last summer. According to rumours, the postponed season planned to begin filming as early as next month.

In the wake of COVID’s sudden rise in production costs, Netflix decided to cancel The Society and I Am Not Okay With This, both of which had been warmly praised by reviewers and fans and had significant backing from the streaming service.

Netflix said in a statement to Deadline: “We’ve made the difficult decision not to move forward with second seasons of The Society and I Am Not Okay With This.” I Am Not Okay With This was produced by 21 Laps Entertainment, and I Am Not Okay With This was produced by Chris Keyser, Marc Webb, and Pavlina Hatoupis at The Society. We are grateful to all of these people, as well as the writers, actors, and crews who worked so hard to bring these shows to our members all over the world. We regret having to make these decisions because of the circumstances created by COVID.

Efforts to re-establish production on all of the shows affected by the Hollywood pandemic closure are likely to be stymied as a result of tight COVID-19 safety procedures and the epidemic’s losses, creating a logjam. The financial impact of the pandemic has been less of a burden on streamers and digital companies than it has been on traditional media companies.

The Society, starring Kathryn Newton and written by Chris Keyser, is billed as a modern Lord of the Flies. The storey revolves around a group of kids who are inexplicably moved to a replica of their rich New England town without ever seeing or hearing from their parents or guardians. Fun and danger combine in their newfound liberation. To ensure their survival, they must develop a sense of order and form alliances while they try to find out what has happened to them and how to get home.

Katherine Newton, Gideon Adlon, Sean Berdy; Natasha Liu Bordizzo; Jacques Colimon; Olivia DeJonge; Alex Fitzalan; Grace Victoria Cox; Emilio Garcia Sanchez; and Olivia Nikkanen are all among the cast of the movie. Executive producing with showrunner Keyser is Marc Webb.

Christy Hall wrote the script and Jonathan Entwistle directed I Am Not Okay With This, a collaboration between the two filmmakers based on the Charles Forsman graphic novel. In this storey, an adolescent girl deals with the pressures of adolescence, her sexuality, and… strange superpowers that are just beginning to emerge from deep within her.

21 Laps’ Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, Dan Cohen, and Josh Barry serve as executive producers for Entwistle and Hall.
