On May 5, 1989, Clinton Brown, a corrections officer, and Joyce Hawkins, a director of a daycare center, welcomed a son named Christopher Maurice Brown into the world in Tappahannock, Virginia. Lytrell Bundy, his only sibling, is older than him.
