Domestic Violence and Child Abuse Charges Are Asserted Against TikToker Taylor Frankie Paul
TikTok star and Mormon convert Taylor Frankie Paul was arrested on Saturday, February 18, for assault and domestic abuse. Read on to find more details about the incident
What is the actual incident?
Following her arrest on February 17 for an alleged altercation with her boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, TikToker Taylor Frankie Paul was charged with multiple crimes, including child abuse. Court records obtained by BuzzFeed News show that on February 17, when Taylor Frankie Paul, 28, was arrested, she was charged with two charges of domestic violence in the presence of a child, aggravated assault, criminal mischief, and child abuse.
A police officer in Herriman, Utah, stated that Paul and her boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, got into a fight in front of Paul’s kids. According to the report, when Mortensen was trying to leave the house, the woman hurled her phone and a wooden toy at him. During arguing with Mortensen, Paul allegedly threw “large, metal chairs,” which caused holes to be punched in the wall. Mortensen stopped Paul after he flung the second chair because her 5-year-old daughter was sitting beside him on the couch.
According to the declaration, Paul was warned to stop throwing chairs but continued to do so, eventually hitting her 5-year-old daughter and leaving her with a nasty bump on the head. It is said in the declaration that the five-year-old can be seen and heard crying on film after being hit with the stool. Paul kicked Mortensen, placed him in a chokehold, and punched him many times, as seen in the video referenced in the complaint.
Is the TikTok Star put up in jail?
The 28-year-old was placed on pre-trial supervised release the morning following the event. The 21st of March is the day of her next court appearance. Different sources have contacted both Taylor’s attorney and Dakota, but we have not yet heard back from them. After joining a “soft swinging” club with other members of the Mormon MomTok community, Taylor caused a stir in 2022 when she announced on a TikTok livestream that she and her husband, Tate Paul, the father of her children, were divorcing. She said she “messed up” when she and her ex made a pact not to “go all the way” with each other when they slept together.
