Annie 1982 Cast Then And Now: Where Is The Cast Of Annie Now?

Annie is a musical movie from 1982 that was based on the hugely popular Broadway show of the same name. Aileen Quinn played Annie, and other great actors like Albert Finney and Carol Burnett were also in the movie. The Broadway show was based on a comic strip called “Little Orphan Annie,” which came out in 1924. The movie was directed by John Huston, and Carol Sobieski wrote the script.

During the Great Depression, the story is about Annie, an orphan from New York City who is taken in by Oliver Warbucks, the richest man in the United States. The movie was made at Monmouth University in New Jersey over the course of six weeks. The reviews for the movie were mixed when it first came out, but it was nominated for Best Production Design and Best Song Score at the 55th Academy Awards.

The Cast of Annie – Where Are They Now?

1. Aileen Quinn – Annie

Annie was played by the adorable Aileen Quinn. After that, she was in a movie called “The Frog Prince,” which wasn’t as well-known. She then showed up in a TV movie, after which she almost stopped being seen.

But in the late 1990s, Quinn came back and started acting in a number of Broadway shows. She played Peter Pan in a play, and then went on to do a few independent movies, like ‘Multiple Sarcasms’ with Mira Sorvino in 2010.

Aileen is the lead singer of the rockabilly band Leapin’ Lizards, which is based in Los Angeles. She is also working on her own music. The five people in Aileen’s band sing old hits from the 1950s and 1960s.

In 1982, after the Annie soundtrack went platinum, she put out an album of her own. But don’t think you’ll be able to get a copy. Less than a dozen copies of the LP are known to exist.

Toni Ann Gisondi – Molly

Little Molly might have been everyone’s favourite. She was the smallest of the orphaned puppies, which made her instantly cute. “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile” has never been done as well as she did.

After “Annie,” she hasn’t been in any other movies.

Rosanne Sorrentino – Pepper

Pepper was an orphan who also didn’t work in movies after Annie.

Rosanne Sorrentino was a stage actor before she was in the movie, and she played Annie in a national tour of the show. She was too old to play Annie in the movie, though.

Instead, the studio put her in the role of Pepper. Now, the only place you can see Rosanne is in the documentary “Life After Tomorrow.”

She is married and has two daughters. She is a teacher right now.

Lara Berk – Tessie

After Annie, this orphan did try her luck in Hollywood. In the movie Preppies, which came out in 1984, Lara Berk played Kiki Dumont. People who went to see the movie didn’t seem to think much of it.

The movie was described as follows: “Three hot young women are hired to make sure that three college students don’t pass their final exams. If they do, one of them will not get a family fortune.”

With a description like that, it’s no wonder the movie did so badly.

She’s married now and has two kids. She works as a legal recruiter. That doesn’t sound nearly as exciting at all.

April Lerman – Kate

This one looks like she has the most experience in Hollywood. April Lerman played the boy-crazy Lila Pembroke in Charles in Charge, which she did after Annie (which also starred Scott Baio).

She was replaced after just one season, though, and went on to guest star on other classic ’80s shows.

She was in Kate and Alice, Growing Pains, and Parker Lewis Can’t Lose. She was also in the documentary Life After Tomorrow, which was about the movie Annie. April quit acting in the end and went to Pepperdine to get a law degree.

She is married and has one son. She is a child psychologist right now.

Carol Burnett – Miss Hannigan

Miss Hannigan, who was played by Carol, was a drunk. Carol Burnett was a great fit for the role of the caretaker of the Hudson Street Home for Girls, who was a fool. Before she was in Annie, Burnett was already a very big star.

The very popular Carol Burnett Show just ended after 11 years on the air. Carol’s career kept going up after Annie. She was on TV a lot. Shows like Mama’s Family and Mad About You gave her parts.

In 2010, Carol appeared in an episode of Glee as a guest star. She was the mother of Sue Sylvester, who was the cheerleading coach.

Carol is married to the musician Brian Miller, and they have three daughters together. Carrie, her oldest child, died of cancer in 2002. Burnett lives in Honolulu, Hawaii, and Santa Fe, New Mexico, so he doesn’t live in that many places.

Albert Finney – Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks

Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks is played by Albert Finney. The character is a rough businessman with a good heart and a thick head. Finney was a good fit for the part.

He was born and raised in Manchester, and in the 1960s, he was known for playing tough roles in movies. He has never been a really good actor who likes to be in the spotlight.

Albert Finney

In 2000, he turned down a second offer to become a knight. He has been successful in Hollywood before because of his work. He was in Erin Brockovich, Big Fish, The Bourne Ultimatum, and Skyfall.

Finney was rarely seen on the big screen from 2007 to 2012. This was because he was fighting kidney cancer, which he died of in 2019.

Geoffrey Holder – Punjab

People who want Annie to win owe a lot to Punjab, Warbucks’ bodyguard. Annie might still be stuck on top of a bridge if he hadn’t used his turban in a creative way. One could say that Punjab is the “Yoda” of the cast because of his Buddhist insights and his ability to move things with his mind.

Holder was a good choreographer when he wasn’t acting in movies.

He was even said to have made dances for the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre.

Ailey’s more recent work includes narrating Tim Burton’s version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, for which he won an Oscar. He was also on a show called The Celebrity Apprentice. He died in 2014, which was sad.

Edward Herrmann – Franklin D. Roosevelt

He also played Richard Gilmore on Gilmore Girls, and he is the voice of many of The History Channel’s historical programmes.

Herrmann also had a role in an episode of M*A*S*H in 1980. He played an army surgeon with PTSD. He also played Max in The Lost Boys, which came out in 1987. Herrmann had two daughters, Emma and Ryen, from his first and second marriages. He was known for restoring old cars and being a big fan of cars.

Edward had a stepson named Rory Herrmann. When Rory was an adult, he changed his last name from Roman to Herrmann to honour his stepfather. Herrmann played a reverend in the October 2013 episode of How I Met Your Mother called “Knight Vision.” Herrmann was from a well-known family of Unitarians from Grosse Pointe, Michigan. As an adult, he became a Roman Catholic.

Herrmann died of brain cancer at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Hospital on December 31, 2014. He was 71 years old.
