Ana De Armas Is Defended By Brad Pitt In Response To Blonde Criticism

Brad Pitt of Bullet Train has defended Ana de Armas of No Time to Die after she was criticised for playing Marilyn Monroe in the upcoming Netflix biopic Blonde.

Pitt, who is a producer on the movie through his company Plan B, told Entertainment Tonight that de Armas is the reason the movie exists.

“She is phenomenal in it. That’s a hard role to play, “he said. “It took 10 years to make. We couldn’t get it across the finish line until we found Ana.”

Blonde is a made-up story about the life of the famous actress. It shows how she went from being Norma Jeane Baker to becoming Marilyn Monroe, the most famous person in the world. It is based on the same-named book by Joyce Carol Oates.

Ana de Armas has gotten a lot of criticism for her accent in the movie, which was shown in the trailer that Netflix just put out. So much so that the estate of Marilyn Monroe had to step in to defend her.

Even though her estate hasn’t given permission for the movie to be made, it gave de Armas its support in an interview with Variety.

Marc Rosen, who is the president of entertainment at Authentic Brands Group (ABG), which owns the Marilyn Monroe Estate, said, “Marilyn Monroe is a unique Hollywood and pop culture icon that spans generations and time.”

“Whoever plays that part knows they have big shoes to fill. From what I’ve seen of the trailer, it looks like Ana was a great choice to play Marilyn. She seems to capture her beauty, humanity, and vulnerability. We can’t wait to see the movie from start to finish.”

The NC-17-rated movie will also “offend everyone,” says the director, Andrew Dominik.

“I think we’re living in a time when people aren’t sure where any lines are. It’s clear that the movie has a lesson to teach, “Dominik told Vulture.

“But it’s not as clear-cut as people want to think it is. Everyone can find something to dislike in it, “he added.
