How was Season 6 Finale Finished Off? Is there room for another season?

Season 6 of The Resident has concluded, making it the shortest season of the medical drama ever (shorter than Season 4, which also got off to a late start because of COVID). The sixth season of the Fox show only had 13 episodes, but they managed to cram a lot of story into those episodes. The season finale wrapped up all the loose ends, had no big cliffhangers, and rolled the final credits without announcing a renewal or termination.

While the final episode of Season 6 was full of hopeful endings, even for characters who have had a rough time recently, The Resident is often known more for ending seasons on emotional cliffhangers, such as the question of how Conrad and Nic would be as parents at the end of Season 4 and whether Conrad would choose Cade or Billie at the end of Season 5.

The number of happy endings is so high that it may be easily enumerated. Some highlights include the declaration of love between Conrad (Matt Czuchry) and Billie (Jessica Lucas). Bell’s (Bruce Greenwood) granddaughter Sammie and Governor Betz (Steven Culp) both survive thanks to the hospital’s excellent medical staff, who ultimately save the institution (thanks to their deal). Bell has decided to participate in Manish Dayal’s (Devon) multiple sclerosis trials. Leela (Anuja Joshi) accepts Devon’s (Greg Rucka) proposal and works as an attendant.

How was The Resident Season 6 finale episodes released?

A break was taken from episodes 13–27 of the series, which stars Matt Czuchry as Dr. Conrad Sloan, Manish Dayal as Dr. Devon Sloan, Bruce Greenwood as Dr. Randolph Sloan, Malcolm-Jamal Warner as Dr. AJ Sloan, Jane Leeves as Dr. Kit Sloan, and Janet Varney as Dr. Leeves. However, fresh episodes are scheduled to begin airing in 2023. The Resident has announced that a new episode will air on January 3, 2023.
Episodes 6.12 and 6.13, the Season 6 finale, will air back-to-back on January 10 and 17, 2023, to make up a unique two-hour event.
