Yona of the Dawn is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Mizuho Kusanagi. The story follows a girl who was born in Japan but raised as royalty in Korea.
After her father is killed she must return to Japan with her bodyguard Hak for safety reasons. It’s been three years since the first season aired on TV Tokyo, and now it’s finally coming back!

A cartoon television series called Yona of the Dawn is based on a manga volume with the same name. The manga is written and commissioned by Mizuho Kusanagi, who also serves as the series editor. It was first announced on August 5, 2009, and volume after volume has since been released.
Following the premiere of the series, Studio Pierrot announced plans to adapt it into a television show, and Yona of the Dawn Season 1 debuted on television on October 7, 2014.

Is there a release date for Yona of the Dawn season 2?
We don’t know yet if “Yona of the Dawn” will have a second season. Even though it’s not unusual for anime series to take breaks of more than a year, the studio that makes the show, Studio Pierrot, has taken a long time to say anything about the show’s future.
According to a post she made on Twitter, the 2016 earthquakes in Kumamoto stopped Kusanagi’s work for a while. This did not help, but that was five years ago. Some people still think the show will be renewed soon because there is a lot of source material in the 34 volumes of the manga that are already out, and the ratings are good. However, the site Anime Next Season thinks the series is over because merchandise sales have been bad and the show’s social media sites no longer promote it.
The longer an anime goes without a renewal, the less likely it is to be renewed. Fans should give up hope if a renewal isn’t come by 2022 or 2023, according to TV Season & Spoilers. Even if the program gets renewed this week, it will take the better part of a year for it to return to the air. Unfortunately, it appears that time is running out.

Yona of the Dawn Season 2 hasn’t had an official trailer released yet! For the time being, you may watch season 1 trailer episodes to get a hint of what’s ahead in the entire series. It’s expected that the third season trailer will be released in 2021.

Hak Son
