Why Women Kill, a deliciously dark comedy, will soon return to its original topic of exploration: why do women kill? In a statement released on December 15, Paramount Plus confirmed that the anthology series, developed by Desperate Housewives and Devious Maids creator Marc Cherry, will officially return for a third season.

With “the style, charm, and dark humor that only Marc Cherry can provide,” Nicole Clemens, president of Paramount Plus’ original scripted series branch said in a press release. “Why Women Kill explores the intricate lives of its female characters with a style, charm, and dark humor that only Marc Cherry can provide.” “When the series returns for its third season, we can’t wait to introduce you to the new cast of compelling, scandalous characters that Marc Cherry has developed,” says the network.
According to Clemens, the hit show “ranks among the top ten shows on Paramount Plus,” so it’s safe to assume that fans will be anxious to press play on a new season as soon as it airs on television. Now that Why Women Kill has been officially renewed for a third season, here’s everything we know about the show’s upcoming third season, including who fans want to see in the cast this time around and when new episodes might eventually air.
Why Women Kill Season 3 Release Date Confirmed By Paramount+
Despite the fact that the spicy dramedy has been renewed for a third season, there is no official premiere date as of yet. The first two seasons premiered roughly two years apart, in August 2019 and June 2021, respectively, so fans will have to wait until the summer of 2023 for the third season to air, which is a disappointment.
Why Women Kill Season 3 Cast
Each season so far has seen a significant cast shakeup and the introduction of a slew of new characters, with Jack Davenport serving as the sole actor to appear in both seasons, first portraying Simone’s third husband, Karl Grove, in Season 1 before transitioning to the role of narrator in Season 2. It’s unclear who (if anyone) will return for Season 3, but we can expect to see a completely new cast take to the screen for the third season—although some fans are hoping for a return appearance from Lana Parrilla, who appeared as a ritzy socialite in Season 2 and has reportedly stated that she wants to work with Cherry again, much like fellow TV executive Ryan Murphy is known for always working with acclaimed actress Sarah Paulson on his shows.

Those who disagree with Cherry believe she should bring back the cast of Desperate Housewives for a de facto reunion on Why Women Kill Season 3.
okay listen, get Marc Cherry to try and get as much as the DH cast on s3 of Why Women Kill and people will tune in and watch cause who didn’t love DH and the views would be so high that they will have no choice but to give DH a reboot

About Why Women Kill Season 1
The first season of Why Women Kill, which went back and forth between the 1960s, 1980s, and 2019, while concentrating on three women’s experiences with adultery, brought history and homicide together. The three jilted women, who all lived in the same Pasadena home at different points in time, included Beth Ann, a housewife played by Ginnifer Goodwin (of Once Upon Time fame), Simone, a socialite played by Lucy Liu, and Taylor, a modern-day lawyer with an open marriage played by Taylor, a modern-day lawyer with an open marriage played by Lucy Liu (Kirby Howell-Baptiste, The Good Place).
“I am completely smitten with ‘Beth Ann’ and her battle to navigate truth, loyalty, sorrow, sanity, and 1960s gender stereotypes,” Goodwin said of her character in a 2019 interview with Parade magazine. “What excites me about Why Women Kill is that I feel I’ve been pushed outside my comfort zone, whether those boundaries are innate or ones that I’ve established for myself over the course of my professional life,” she says.

Why Women Kill Season 3 Plot
Because of the anthology nature of the overall series, as well as the intentional absence of an overarching storyline that connects previous seasons to the most recent, there have been no plot details announced for the third season of “Why Women Kill,” and there is no way to predict what themes or characters it will tackle at this time.
Instead, it’s entertaining to hypothesize about what era the show might take place in. Because the subject matter that the show has based itself around thus far has tended to be housewives of the more desperate variety, it is possible that single women will be Cherry’s next region of operation. So far, the show has traveled through the decades of the 1950s, 1940s, 1980s, and the present day — which century will it travel through next? Perhaps the twenties were the era? Will someone go to any lengths to become a free and easy flapper? Will we be delving into the world of cults and murder in the far-future decade of the 1960s? Will there be a 1970s-themed adventure with drugs, cake, and glitter to look forward to?
Whatever twists and turns Marc Cherry can concoct for his next group of violent, trendy, and desperate divas will undoubtedly be a delight to see unfold on the big screen in the coming months.
