It will be interesting to see how Jessie adapts to life in East London after making the daring decision to stay and continue her romance with Tom rather than leaving to New Zealand as initially intended at the end of Season 1.
Almost 5 million people tuned in to watch the first season of Starstruck on BBC iPlayer, making it the channel’s most popular new comedy series of 2021.
For the time being, we don’t know what will happen in the rest of season 2, but if the previous season is any indication, we can expect plenty of amusing and dramatic moments.
Jessica (Matafeo), a twenty-something living in East London with two dead-end jobs, was the subject of the highly successful first season of Starstruck. She had to deal with the difficulties of falling in love with legendary film star Tom, as well as the hurdles of falling in love with Tom himself.

The plot of Starstruck Season 2
In the six-part second season of Starstruck, written by Matt Matafeo, Alice Snedden, and Nic Sampson, the romantic drama will startup where the first season left off with the conclusion of the initial run of the show. According to a description of the season, Jessie will have to cope with the ramifications of her decision to stay in New York and pursue a relationship with Tom rather than return to her home country of New Zealand.
“I’m overjoyed that Starstruck will be returning to BBC Three for a second series,” Matafeo said during the announcement of the show’s second season. “I forgot my water bottle on set last year and would like to get it back,” Matafeo said. In the bathroom mirror, we catch a glimpse of Tom (Matafeo) and Jessie (Matafeo) engaging with each other while they are brushing their teeth.
The cast of Starstruck Season 2
Jessie and Tom will, of course, be back in the show, as will Rose Matafeo as Jessie. In addition to Patel and Matafeo, Minnie Driver (Modern Love) will return to Starstruck season 2 to reprise her role as Tom’s agent Cath. This season’s cast includes Russel Tovey (Years and Years), who has yet to be verified as a character or how his character is related to the others.

It was nominated for Best Comedy Programme at the Broadcast Awards 2022 and the Edinburgh TV Awards 2021 following the show’s launch in 2021. According to Variety, Matafeo has been included in its best performances of 2021 and in The Times Top 10 Funniest Actors on Television.

Release Date of Starstruck Season 2
The critically acclaimed international hit of comedian Matafeo is returning to television screens in February 2022 on a new and better BBC Three channel, which will debut in February 2022.
The cast and crew of the show announced that it would premiere on Monday, February 7th, at 10 p.m. EST in a tweet sent out on January 26th, 2018. The entire box set is available on BBC iPlayer.
