Polls show that the Democrats will keep the Senate, giving Biden a boost

With inflation surging and Biden’s popularity low, Republicans anticipated winning the Senate and House. US networks called Nevada for Democrat Catherine Cortez Masto on Saturday, giving the party a majority. VP Kamala Harris can break a 50-50 tie to capture Senate control. December’s Georgia Senate runoff is uncertain. After Mark Kelly’s win in Arizona, the two parties had 49 seats.
Republicans are marginally favoured to win the House, but with a considerably smaller majority than projected.

Some say Trump’s early entry into the campaign is to avoid possible criminal charges from investigations into his final weeks as president and his commercial concerns. His attorneys resisted a subpoena from a congressional committee investigating the January 6 attack on the US Capitol. They have filed a lawsuit claiming he has “total immunity” as a former president from testifying before Congress.
