Back in 2015, Shigeru Miyamoto, the series creator, was cited as claiming that Pikmin 4 was “very close to completion,” causing fans to hope that a new game was on the way. Some believe that Miyamoto meant Hey! Pikmin, a 2017 launch title for the New Nintendo 2DS XL.
Miyamoto said, “I have been told not to share anything about this from PR, but I can tell you it is progressing,” when questioned two years later about the development of Pikmin 4. Nintendo had been silent on when Pikmin 4 would be available since 2017, but that all changed during the September Nintendo Direct.
During the webcast, Miyamoto discussed Pikmin Bloom and confirmed that the next installment in the series would be released sometime in 2019.

Speculations about Pikmin 4’s release date
The release date for Pikmin 4 is set for 2023. This was revealed in a Nintendo Direct on September 13, 2022, so we know it is true. There has been no further announcement from Nintendo, which is disappointing. We anticipate that Pikmin 4 will not be launched until at least the second half of 2023, which is still a long way off.
