Lizzo, originally known as Melissa Viviane Jefferson, is an American singer, rapper, songwriter and a flutist, born on April 27, 1988, in Detroit, Michigan.

The 33 year old artist began her career with her debut studio album ‘Lizzobangers’, released in 2013, followed by her second album ‘Big Grrrl Small World’, released in 2015.

Lizzo went on to garner worldwide fame and prominence with her breakthrough third studio album ‘Cuz I Love You’, released in 2019, that peaked within the Top 5 songs on the Billboard 200 chart.

The award winning artist has achieved several major milestones and earned multiple accolades to her name, including three Grammy Awards, two Soul Train Music Awards, a Billboard Music and a BET Award.

Lizzo recently came up with her song ‘Rumors’ featuring the popular rapper Cardi B, that rolled out on floors on August 13.

The ‘Truth Hurts’ singer has been a victim to loads of body-shaming and racist comments all through her life, with people calling her names and putting her down emotionally and physically, spewing hate and nasty trolls for her bold and courageous attitude towards self love and flaunting her body on social media with pride.

Lizzo had taken to Instagram for a quick live session dedicated to her fans and haters alike, expressing her disdain and trauma over the treatment she’s been receiving since quite some time now, especially for ‘Rumors’.

Addressing the criticism and hate, Lizzo shared with teary-eyed, “Sometimes I feel like the world just don’t love me back. It doesn’t matter how much positive energy you put into the world, you’re still going to have people who have something mean to say about you.”

Getting all emotional, the singer couldn’t resist but break down into tears as she continued, “People who have something mean to say about you, and for the most part it doesn’t hurt my feelings, I don’t care. I just think when I’m working this hard, my tolerance gets lower, my patience is lower. I’m more sensitive, and it gets to me.”
