In the most recent episode of “Sister Wives,” Kody Brown is astonished by Janelle’s support for his ex-wife Christine.
Christine has leaned on Janelle throughout Season 17 as she has navigated difficult family discussions around her and Kody’s separation. Kody argues in the episode airing on November 20 that Janelle is morally backing her ex-sister-in-law more than her husband.
Kody Brown has addressed how his divorce from Christine Brown has negatively affected his relationships with Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, and Robyn Brown.
During the episode of “Sister Wives” that aired on November 27, Kody revealed, “I’m struggling so terribly with this divorce. It is probably damaging my friendship with Janelle and my relationship with Robyn.”
In November 2021, after more than 25 years of marriage, Christine, age 50, formally filed for divorce from Kody. The Wyoming native is now spiritually married to his first wife, Meri, 51, and second wife, Janelle, 53. In 2014, he married his fourth wife, Robyn, who is 43.
Kody admits, “I have always desired my wives to have tight relationships. And it’s a tragedy to me that Janelle and Christine have a better relationship now, after all these years and Christine’s four years of slandering Janelle about our living conditions.
Janelle, for her part, stated in a confessional that she feels caught in the middle and finds it difficult to separate her feelings for Christine from Kody’s issues with his ex-wife.
Janelle confides in Christin after Christine places her in an awkward position: “I don’t know how to be on a side or be perceived as being on a side.”
“I am being pulled with equal force. Robyn, Kody, and Meri are mine. There, I have a duty. However, I desire to be with Christine and her children during the holiday season. I’m damned if I do, damned if I don’t. I can only select a side with they tell me to do so. Janelle admitted during an interview.
Christine is about to move from Arizona to Utah, and Janelle appears to be genuinely thrilled for her.

After asking Christine about her future romantic prospects, Janelle stated, “I hope she remarries, and I hope I like her new husband.”
As the show continues, Janelle and Kody are still battling about her living situation. When living in an RV becomes untenable during winter, she suggests renting a house for the season. Kody disagrees and argues that Janelle decided to go to the fifth wheel.
The divisions become even more apparent when the family gathers on Christine’s moving day to say a very tough farewell. Christine stands on one side with Janelle and her family, while Kody and Robyn stand on the other with Robyn’s children. Janelle embraces Christine as she sobs, and then the scene ends.
Christine says, ” I have never witnessed a worse farewell.”
Christine and Janelle were formerly sisters’ wives, but they are now friends. Despite Kody’s spiritual and legal marriages to Meri, Janelle, and Robyn, the connection was tested when he announced his separation from Christine.

The crowd was outraged by Kody’s behavior toward his wives and his intention to purchase Christine’s former home.
Kody confessed that the stress strained his relationships more and that he did not know what to do when he noticed that everyone was siding with Christine.
