Anime Entertainment

There’s no doubt that anime versions of popular light novel series have done very well with fans. For instance, the anime version of “The Rising of the Shield Hero” helped the original light novel series sell a lot more copies. And the author Fujino Mori’s “DanMachi” was no different. According to Crunchyroll, the second anime season of the series in 2019 really helped to boost sales of light novels. In fact, “DanMachi,” also known as “Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon,” was the best anime adaptation of a light novel series. It was better than other series like “Sword Art Online.”

This could be because the anime and light novel series can mix fantasy adventure with a harem comedy. The main character of the series is Bell Cranel, a 14-year-old boy who goes on adventures alone. After meeting the goddess Hestia and getting some powers from her, Bell explores the city of Orario and how it is connected to a dangerous place called simply “the Dungeon.” He wants to be one of the best adventurers in the world.

So far, Bell’s adventures have been turned into TV shows for three seasons. Fans also got a special OVA episode at the end of April. This was after the third season of the show ended in 2020. But for those who still want more “DanMachi,” a new season is on the way. Everything we know about Season 4 is listed below.

What’s the plot of DanMachi Season 4?

A plot summary for Season 4 of “DanMachi” has not been made public. But the teaser trailer does give some hints about what the next episode of the anime will be about. The teaser goes back and shows some of Bell’s adventures from earlier in the series. It also shows a lot of what Bell learns about himself by the end of the third season. The adventurer wants to get stronger after losing a battle against the powerful Asterius in the Season 3 finale and making up with Ais to train together again. In Season 4, we’ll definitely see him trying to get better.

Volumes 9 through 11 of the light novel series were made into Season 3 of DanMachi. Most likely, Season 4 will be based on Volume 12 of the books, which sets up the start of Bell’s next adventure. In Volume 12, Bell gets a letter for a new expedition. He has moved up in rank and earned the respect of Orario. Season 4 will likely make this trip for Bell into an animated show.

This year, it was announced on Crunchyroll that the fourth season of “DanMachi” will come out in 2022. So far, that’s the only official information about when the game will come out. A specific date hasn’t been given yet. But Warner Bros. Japan Anime also released a teaser trailer for the next season, which has English subtitles.

Even though the wait is longer than what fans had hoped for at first, it’s not out of the ordinary for the series. Between the first two seasons of “DanMachi,” there was a gap of a few years. The show’s first season came out in 2015, and the second season came out in 2019. According to Anime News Network, Season 3 of the show was supposed to come out in July 2020, during the summer anime season.

However, the COVID-19 pandemic caused the release to be pushed back to October. It would make sense if the pandemic had something to do with the current date for Season 4, and the recent OVA could have been a way to keep fans satisfied until then.
