Camila Cabello, 24, recently shared a TikTok video after going for a run where her stomach was visible and she slammed body shamers, embracing her ‘stretch marks and fat.’ “I Luv my body”, she wrote in the caption.
She starts her video by saying, “I was just running in the park minding my own business trying to be fit, trying to keep it healthy, And I am wearing a top that shows my belly, and I wasn’t tucking it in,” expressing that she clearly is content with her body. She then proceeds to pan down her phone to her exposed stomach, adding, “Because I was running and existing like a normal person that doesn’t tuck it in all the time.”
The ‘Havana’ singer unquestionably has a positive attitude towards body positivity as she stated that she is “grateful for this body that lets me do what I need to do.” She concluded the clip by very truly saying, “We are real women with curves and cellulite and stretch marks and fat. And we gotta own that, baby.”
Not only body positivity, but Cabello has also been vocal about how salient mental health is as well. “Finding a good therapist has been really helpful for me in challenging thinking patterns that were causing me to feel anxious or self-destructive, doing 10 minutes of mindfulness meditation has been really helpful for me too,” Cabello told PEOPLE.
Camila’s boyfriend Shawn Mendes has talked about how confident she is with her body. Mendes in an interview with British GQ describes Camila as someone who is “so strong, so clear, and confident with her [body] and so articulate and empathetic about other peoples and it really changed my view of mine.”
