It seems like an eternity ago that the first season of Alice in Borderland, a television series based on the popular manga series of the same name, premiered. The Japanese thriller, which premiered on our screens in late 2020, introduced us to an alternate, desolate Tokyo in which a group of strangers was pitted against one another in a series of often-deadly games decided by brains, brawn, and treachery. Season one was an instant hit among fans thanks to its plot twists, betrayals, and emotional losses, and after reaching the Top 10 on Netflix in over 40 countries and territories, it seemed like a no-brainer to order a second season. But when will it be released, who will be in it, and what will the plot be are all unknowns. As for what we know so far about Alice in Borderland Season 2, here’s what we know:
Alice In Borderland Season 2 Renewed Status
Season 2 of Alice in Borderland has been officially renewed for release in December 2022.
Alice In Borderland Season 2 Release Date

The second season of Alice in Borderland is expected to premiere in December of 2022, at the earliest. As a result, there will be some waiting, but it will make for a fantastic binge-watch during the holiday season!
Alice In Borderland Season 2 Expected Cast
No official confirmation of the returning cast has yet been made, but according to IMDb, the series’ leads Kento Yamazaki as Arisu and Tao Tsuchiya as Usagi, as well as recurring characters Kuina, Rizuna, and Shuntaro have all confirmed their participation. Riisa Naka’s Mira Kano, who was introduced as a “gamemaster” late in the first season, will be another interesting character to keep an eye out for in Season 2.
How many episodes does Season 2 of Alice in Borderland have?
Even while there hasn’t been an official announcement, fans have remarked that the first season covered about the first 31 chapters of the original manga, with 33 chapters still yet to be examined in the second season. This could indicate that we’ll be seeing a season that’s roughly the same length as the first. Take into consideration, however, the astronomical success of the first season, and it is not surprising that Netflix has insisted on a long series of episodes for Alice in Borderland Season 2.
Alice in Borderland Season 1 Recap
Arisu, a young man who is infatuated with video games, gets pushed into a deadly competition in a curiously deserted section of Tokyo. Arisu, together with his two pals, must face a series of tasks that are directed by an invisible force, with the complexity and timeliness of each obstacle signified by the suit and number of a deck of playing cards. As a result of his friends’ deaths during one of the games, Arisu meets a young woman named Usagi and helps her in unraveling the mystery behind the collection of all the available playing cards. Their travels take them to a vast hotel filled with other players, where it is discovered that all cards have been collected except for the Ten of Hearts, which has yet to be discovered. In order to complete the Ten of Hearts final challenge, many of the other players in the hotel are killed, but Arisu and Usagi manage to find an underground room where the people they believed to be the “gamemasters” have been found dead. A woman named Mira is then brought to them, who informs them that the games have only just begun and that the face cards are now in play.
Alice in Borderland Season 2 Expected Plot
Everything is possible now, thanks to the final episode of Season 1, which significantly broadened the scope of the show. For the purposes of this article, it is expected that Arisu and Usagi will continue their search for the remaining cards they require, which will almost certainly lead to a confrontation with Mira Kano, the Queen of Hearts who was introduced late in season 1. “I will draw a mystery world that no one has ever seen before, as well as an unexpected development with uncompromising pictures,” director Shinsuke Sato hinted at what we might be in store for this season. It’s a little bizarre.
