In 2001, the launch of The Proud Family on Disney Channel was a moment. Bruce W. Smith’s cartoon was not only shamelessly Black, but it also performed well in the ratings. The show quickly became a fixture of Disney Channel programming, and ABC even aired replays.

For the first time since it ended in 2005, The Proud Family is back on our screens. As a little older version of Penny (Kyla Pratt) navigates her wild family while learning to be her own woman, Louder and Prouder was created by Smith and Ralph Farquhar. You’re well aware of it. Disney+ has renewed The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder for a second season, just ahead of the Season 1 finale. You can relax because Penny and the crew are officially returning.

Is The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder season 2 in production?

Yes! On April 18, Disney+ announced on their social media channels that the new season of the animated series had under production: “Even louder 👏 Even prouder 👏 Season 2 of @TheProudFamily: #LouderAndProuder, is officially in production!”

The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder Season 2 Release Date:

That show, which was made by Tommy Davidson, was supposed to come back in 2019. Disney+ didn’t order new episodes of The Proud Family until February of 2020, which is when the show was supposed to come back.

When the Canadian studio WildBrain joined the project in July of 2021, animation for the show began. This is when the animation began. Finally, about 17 years after the Disney Channel show ended, The Proud Family came back to TV in February of 2022.

It looks like there’s going to be a big asterisk on Season 1’s production schedule. The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder were announced right before COVID-19 shut down the world, and the season was made entirely during the pandemic. Nobody said COVID stopped the show from being made, but it’s possible that it did because of how lockdowns affected other parts of Hollywood, so this is how it might have worked out: This shows how long it takes to make a new season of The Proud Family: Proud and Louder. Expect Season 2 in 2023 or ’24.

Who Is in the Cast for The Proud Family Season 2?

Season 2 will include all of your previous favorites. Tommy Davidson, Paula Jai Parker, JoMarie Payton, Cedric the Entertainer, Karen Malina White, Soleil Moon Frye, Alisa Reyes, Carlos Mencia, Maria Canals-Barrera, Alvaro Gutierrez, Raquel Lee Bolleau, and Marcus T. Paulk will all be back in this new season. Keke Palmer, Billy Porter, Zachary Quinto, EJ Johnson, Asante Black, Artist “A Boogie” Dubose, Bresha Webb, and Aiden Dodson, who all portrayed new characters in Season 1, will also make appearances in this chapter.

Chance the Rapper, Gabrielle Union, Normani, Anthony Anderson, Dominique Dawes, Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez, Jane Lynch, Holly Robinson Peete, Maury Povich, Storm Reid, Courtney B. Vance, Liana Mendoza, and Leslie Odom Jr. will all make guest appearances in Season 2 of the show. This season hasn’t even begun yet, but it’s already shaping up to be one of the most interesting on television.
