Having an aquarium in your home is not just a great focal point, it reduces stress and lowers blood pressure. When it comes to caring, it’s easier to care for a freshwater fish than a saltwater fish. Also, Freshwater fishes are beautiful and colorful fishes with amiable nature.
Here are 5 beautiful fishes for aquarium:
1. Neon Tetra
This is one of the most popular freshwater fishes. It’s a small and thin fish that is ideal for both beginners and experienced aquarium owners. Neon Tetra reaches a maximum of 2.2 cm in length. It’s a peaceful and calm species that work well in groups. For the tank, make sure you include rocks, plants other accessories for them to play hide and seek.
Mollies are a great freshwater species that grow around 3 to 4 inches long and are omnivorous. They love to breed so if you don’t want so many mollies in your aquarium, keep fishes on one gender. Male molly fishes are much smaller than female mollies and have a specialized anal fin called a gonopodium.
3. Betta Fish
Betta Fish is also known as the Siamese fighting fish and are available in diverse beautiful colors, These fishes are known for their highly territorial and aggressive nature with other fish, particularly males. For the same, I would rather say you should place them separately if you are unsure about the nature of your Betta. On a personal note, these are my favorite fishes for aquariums.
Goldfish is a beautiful species that generally grows up to 14 inches long. Some wild goldfish can live up to 25 years or even longer but their lives depend on care and environment. Goldfishes are extremely beautiful but they need constant maintenance, such as weekly water changes and filters.
Another popular freshwater fish is Angelfish that can grow up to 6 inches in length and 8 inches tall. They’re very beautiful and come in various colors and patterns. They are omnivores and can eat plants and other animals, like small insects and shrimp, but should be kept away from small fish. They too are authoritative but less than Betta Fish.
