Harry Styles’ year is 2022. Since the former member of One Direction started his wildly successful solo career, he has tried his hand at acting and made songs like “Music for a Sushi Restaurant.” In 2017, he got a part in Christopher Nolan’s war movie Dunkirk. This year, he will also be in Olivia Wilde’s movie Don’t Worry Darling with Florence Pugh. His next movie, My Policeman, takes place in Brighton in the 1950s and is about a police officer named Tom Burgess who hides the fact that he is gay because being gay is against the law. He explores his sexuality by having an affair with Patrick Hazelwood, the curator of a museum, while he is dating Marion, a school teacher.
So, if you want to know who else is in the movie, what it’s about, and how to see it when it comes out, you don’t need to look any further. Here is everything you need to know about Harry Styles’ new movie, My Policeman, including when it will come out, who will be in it, and more.
The internet has gone crazy over the first stills.
Amazon put out the first two stills from the movie on June 9. One showed Styles and Corrin as Tom and Marion gazing lovingly into each other’s eyes from a pool, and the other showed the same two people in a gallery with David Dawson’s Patrick, who seems to be explaining a piece of art to them. While the first is happy, the second shows the tension between the three.

It’s based on! sweeping novel
My Policeman is based on Bethan Roberts’s 2012 book of the same name. It’s about a school teacher named Marion (played by The Crown’s Emma Corrin) and a police officer named Tom (Styles) who meet on the Brighton coast in the 1950s and fall in love. Enter Patrick (David Dawson), a curator who has moved to Brighton to get over the death of his ex-lover. He quickly falls in love with Tom.
Even though being gay is against the law, the two men start a passionate relationship. For a while, the three of them enjoy living together, but then jealousy breaks up their arrangement. In the 1990s, Marion and Tom are now married, and Patrick comes back into their lives. As expected, this causes a lot of trouble.
The book’s synopsis is as follows:
It is in 1950s’ Brighton that Marion first catches sight of Tom. He teaches her to swim in the shadow of the pier and Marion is smitten—determined her love will be enough for them both. A few years later in Brighton Museum Patrick meets Tom. Patrick is besotted with Tom and opens his eyes to a glamorous, sophisticated new world. Tom is their policeman, and in this age it is safer for him to marry Marion. The two lovers must share him, until one of them breaks and three lives are destroyed.
