Who is Albert Omstead in Cobra Kai?

The seventh episode of season four pays tribute to Albert Omstead with a title card that reads, “Albert Omstead 1982–2021 in memoriam.” However, not many people realize that Albert worked in the camera and electrical sections of the show. He passed away in July 2021 in Georgia while he was trying to patch a leak that was leaking into his basement when the wall collapsed on him.

The staff member had also worked on other popular shows, including The Walking Dead, Atlanta, and Stranger Things. When Albert passed away in July this year, Stranger Things star Gaten Matarazzo paid tribute to him and said, “I extend all my love and prayers to the Omstead family.”

What was Cobra Kai’s Albert Omstead’s Cause of death?

Albert Omstead passed away on July 19, 2021, after a bizarre event that took place at his Atlanta home.

When he got home from working on the set of Cobra Kai, he found himself in a terrible situation.

Omstead got right to work, mending the leak in the garage when he got back. As Omstead was fixing the leak in the garage, a retaining wall gave way and landed on top of him.

Omstead, who worked in production, was killed when bricks from the garage’s retaining wall fell on him.

“Instantly, the entire thing just collapsed on top of him,” his brother-in-law Scott Wachtel told 11 Alive. The rest of the wall started collapsing over here, he said, so the man “had nowhere to go” because “the garage door was locked and there was a van parked right here” in front of the garage.
